NATURE AND SCOPE OF POSITION

COMPANY DESCRIPTION


Toro Railings is a leading manufacturer of quality railings for residential buildings, offering a variety of design styles which complement the requirements of each unique project.


REPORTING
The Site Superintendent reports directly to the General Manager of Railings.


JOB SUMMARY
The Site Superintendent will be accountable for overseeing all field operations in multiple construction projects.

This role will be the driving force in ensuring our project plans are successfully completed as per design, budget, and schedule.

This position will lead and coach the Site Team while promoting safety and quality.

RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES

Health and Safety

  • Create and maintain a culture of Safety First, leading by example and holding our site teams and site partners accountable
  • Works with the Project Manager and Site Safety Manager to ensure implementation of Toro Aluminum Railings safety program and adherence to all safety requirements
  • Work in partnership with Site Coordinators to ensure all on site safety standards are being met
Site Management

  • Oversee, direct, coach, train, and mentor direct and indirect reports on the Project team
  • Effectively communicates with Site teams and subcontractors to ensure that performance, productivity, quality, and safety requirements are met
  • Collaborates with the project team in finding solutions to potential problems, identifying risks, work interferences and schedule conflicts.
  • Work in partnership with clients and other site contractors to ensure all parties are aligned with the project requirements
  • Designs and implements recovery plan if required
  • Assists to create, maintain, and execute the project plan and schedule to ensure compliance with budget and quality
  • Reviews and understands the contract and subcontracts
  • Develops and maintain strong customer focused relationships with all stakeholders
  • Contributes to company initiatives
  • Other duties as required
  • File all quotes and sort accordingly
  • Prepare labels for checks given from AP and put in security envelopes, stamp and give back to AP to mail.
  • Prepares other reports as required
  • Other duties as assigned by management

QUALIFICATIONS
Education

  • Good standard of education supported by a university or college diploma in Construction Management
Experience

  • 5 years of experience in field supervision preferred
  • 25 year's experience in the Railings/Construction industry and company operations, including building materials, construction specifications, methods, and procedures

Skills:


  • Ability to prioritize workload and coordinate multiple aspects of a construction project
  • Understanding of contract language
  • Ability to interface effectively with key stakeholders and clients, including leading site meetings with the customers, consultants, and internal employees
  • Demonstrated conflict resolution skills, problem solving abilities and professional judgement
  • Knowledge of virtual construction software and tools
  • Knowledge of construction drawings and specifications
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
