Under the direction of the Manager Professional Practice, the Clinical Education Coordinator (CEC) will work collaboratively with stakeholders to plan and coordinate unit, site and corporate clinical and professional orientation to ensure effective and efficient delivery within available resources, aligned to the priorities and strategic directions of the organization.

The Coordinator will liaise with the educational institutions and work collaboratively to optimize student intake/flow and clinical experience for student learners in nursing and allied professions.


Education & Experience:


  • BScN; Masters preferred
  • Current unrestricted registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Minimum of three years recent experience in leadership and/or coordination activities
  • Experience working with interprofessional teams
  • Experience in needs assessment and program design and delivery, preferred
  • Project management experience, preferred

Position Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Coordinates and project manages clinical education activities including, but not limited to, new practices, scope of practice changes, policies and procedures, and equipment
  • Collaborates with Manager, Professional Practice, to guide the vision and direction of clinical education
  • Coordinates a thorough competencybased orientation for all new clinical staff
  • Develops and implements communication strategies to support stakeholder engagement, adoption of new practices and the delivery of clinical education
  • Identifies clinical education needs and opportunities for collaboration and shared learning
  • Coordinates and project manages activities related to professional and interprofessional competencies as determined by regulatory colleges, best practice and the organizational priorities
