The Manitoba government is seeking highly motivated Maintenance Assistants to work within the Asset Management Division of Consumer Protection and Government Services.

- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
- Must possess a valid Class 5 Drivers License and be able to work in other locations within the Province of Manitoba.
- Must possess and maintain a satisfactory Criminal Record Check and Child Abuse Registry.
- Must have a class 5 Power Engineer License.
- Must be able to work overtime, including evenings and weekends.
Qualifications:
Essential:
- Trade designation or equivalent combination of education (5th class Power Engineer, partial or full trades certificate, BOMI Certificate).
- Knowledge of workplace health and safety, policies and legislation.
- Ability to analyze and problem solve.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to maintain positive working relationships.
- Excellent written communication skills.
- Excellent verbal communication skills.
Duties:
The Maintenance Assistant performs a variety of tasks relating to the operation and maintenance of government facilities such as office buildings.
They are primarily responsible for duties such as preventative and corrective maintenance activities inside and outside of the buildings, maintaining heating and cooling equipment, assisting tradespersons and grounds keeper, performing daily checks, inspections and preventative maintenance on life safety systems and helping maintain client relations.
