About the role:


Reporting to and working closely with the Chief People Officer, the role of the Vice President, Learning & Organizational Development is responsible for leading and executing the design and implementation of organizational development and learning programs that support WSIB's strategic objectives, which includes the leading the creation and implementation of a learning centre of excellence.

The VP, Learning & Organizational Development, will also focus on building culture consistent with WSIB values, strengthening internal career paths, and professional development to ensure all employees have the skills and resources they need to succeed.


Major Responsibilities:


Strategic Planning Development:


  • Provides leadership and direction in the development and execution of all organizational development, culture & learning functions and support services, ensuring WSIB's Strategic Plan is supported and that all established processes are in compliance with WSIB policies and practices and regulatory and legislative requirements.
  • Collaborates with peers and senior levels of management to design and implement organizational development and learning strategies plans
  • Ensures branch operating and capital budgets are developed, approved and managed

Functional Leadership:


  • Lead, manage, and develop a team of learning and organizational effectiveness professionals to advance organizational capabilities, achieve and sustain bestin class programs, processes and practices
  • Develops short and longterm strategies and sponsors key initiatives to promote, achieve and maintain a culture of learning, service excellence and employee engagement.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of learning paths and programs across all business units and employee levels, and organizational development programs that align with company goals and values
  • Lead the creation and implementation of a learning centre of excellence
  • Drive employee experience through our continuous listening strategy in alignment with strategic business priorities and largescale transformation initiatives by leading the design, implementation, measurement, and continuous improvement of key initiatives (i.e., employee engagement survey, pulse surveys, other listening initiatives, toolkits, etc.)

Relationship Management:


  • Partners with our HR Centres of Excellence, EDI, business partners, industry peers, and external vendors to continuously evolve and effectively implement talent programs which meet the future needs of the organization while maintaining currency on emerging best practices trends and/or legislation/regulations
  • Maintains effective working relationships with third party vendors

Quality & Risk Management:


  • Monitors quality and relevance of organizational development, culture & learning services and programs, evaluating and auditing processes, best practices and resultsEnsures all organizational development, culture & learning processes, policies and protocols are established and compliance is monitored
  • Develops a measurement strategy to assess and monitor the effectiveness of learning and organizational development programs/processes and identify enhancements that will drive meaningful change

Education & Experience Requirements:


  • Undergraduate Degree in Business, Industrial relations or equivalent field.
  • Masters Degree an asset
