Permanent Full Time

Mississauga Site

Work Arrangement: 2 days' onsite / 3 days' remote

Position Summary:


ErinoakKids is currently seeking a talented and dynamic individual to fill the role of Clinical Applications Specialist of clinical Meditech modules, working at our Mississauga location.

Reporting to the Supervisor, Information Systems, this position will be the primary contact for service issues related to specific Meditech Expanse clinical modules including Ambulatory Clinical, Imaging & Document Management, Order Management and Patient Care System.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Serves as a primary contact for service issues related to Meditech's clinical modules;
  • Using first level problem solving techniques to analyze and troubleshoot end user issues/problems related to the Health Care Information System (HCIS); create and monitor the Help Desk tickets to resolve requests and provide timely follow up with customers;
  • Supports daytoday operation of clinical modules such as testing new functionality and designing new processes based on need, supporting end user questions, maintaining dictionaries with previous knowledge of health care systems, processes and family/client needs;
  • Completes relevant testing and training required for Meditech Expanse Priority Pack updates, as well as goLIVE support;
  • Supports the Information Management Process Improvement Committee change process by updating any required Meditech Expanse dictionaries from approved change requests to ensure a consistent approach is followed
  • Participates in organizational projects when required to provide expertise on Meditech Expanse functionality;
  • Supports training of Meditech Expanse for newly hired employees and coordinates access set up for new employees, as required;
  • Prepares documentation for new and existing departmental system processes;
  • Provides ongoing education to staff when updates to the system occur;
  • Interacts with our external service providers and provides ongoing support to staff to facilitate timely resolution of all Meditech Expanse issues;
  • Participates in interdepartmental meetings;
  • Collaborate with, train and support clinical Super Users.

Qualifications:


  • 35 years work experience in a health care environment;
  • Working knowledge of clinical operations in a health care setting;
  • Project implementation experience is an asset;
  • Previous experience in a Meditech Expanse environment including dictionary build is an asset;
  • Proficient computer knowledge, including MS Office programs is required;
  • Ability to use Adult education concepts for planning and delivering training sessions for staff at all levels;
  • Proven ability to work as a team member as well as work independently;
  • Demonstrates ability to problem solve and strong verbal and written communication skills;
  • Knowledge of building and maintaining customer relationships;
  • Strong organizational skills required;
  • Computer knowledge of Microsoft Office, HEAT, and SMS is considered an asset;
  • Possession of a valid Ontario's driver's license and access to a personal vehicle as some travel between sites is required.
