Position Summary


As a member of the Joint Department of Medical Imaging, the
Administrative Assistant II - Call Centre exercises considerable judgment and independence in order to act as a liaison between hospital clinicians and medical imaging staff.

Responsibilities will include coordinating and facilitating communication between referring physicians and medical imaging staff, communicating critical findings and discrepant results to referring physicians, locating radiologists according to schedule, providing knowledge on medical imaging procedures and their locations, facilitating the arrangement of bookings, performing various reception responsibilities, answering physician queries and handling busy telephone activities.

Additional responsibilities will include the performance of cross-functional duties, as assigned or requested and performance of other duties consistent with the job classification, as required.


Qualifications

  • Completion of Grade XII or recognized equivalent
  • Completion of a recognized business postsecondary medical secretarial arts program at the diploma level
  • Strong judgment and decision making skills
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Comprehensive knowledge of medical terminology
  • Working knowledge of medical imaging procedures and indications
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure and use good judgment in assessing difficult situations
  • Comprehensive knowledge of health care, organizational/office practices, procedures and standards
  • Utilizes advanced functions to provide word processing/typing services to facilitate the production of complex documents/materials
  • Develops, organizes and maintains electronic and paper information filing/retrieval methods, systems, or formats
  • Work efficiently in a highpressured environment
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills that would complement well developed interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to produce high quality work in accordance with Hospital standards
  • Work with and maintain quality assurance practices.
  • Performs crossfunctional responsibilities, as required
  • Performs other duties consistent with the job classification, as assigned
