ABOUT THE COMPANY


SIXENSE is the worldwide leader in the design, installation, maintenance and operation of large automated monitoring systems during the construction of iconic infrastructure across the globe.

SIXENSE has developed proprietary software and techniques to allow engineers to monitor and understand soil and structure behaviour during the project.

SIXENSE deployed hundreds of sensors in the USA and Canada on small and large construction projects.

Their performance relies on the robustness of their initial design and on the quality of the post-processing of the data.

Using our technique and proprietary software, SIXENSE is looking for an Instrumentation Engineer (or senior Instrumentation Technician) in order to strengthen our capacity to deploy structural and geotechnical Instrumentation.

The Instrumentation Engineer will design, supply, install and maintain the monitoring system on the project with the support of the local team.


SCOPE OF POSITION


The Project Manager will oversee all aspects of a project in accordance with the Company's policies and work closely with the Operations Manager in risk assessment.

They will supervise subcontractors and sub-consultants, negotiate the final terms and conditions of the Scope of Work, and be the primary contact for all stakeholders.

The Project Manager will create and maintain job budgets, coordinate project change orders, and ensure compliance with safety regulations.

They will plan, organize, direct, and control all day-to-day operations and personnel for the project while maximizing profitability without jeopardizing safety or quality.

They will also provide progress updates to the Operations Manager and perform other assigned duties.


ROLES, RESPONSIBILITIES & EXPECTATIONS

  • Oversee all aspects of a project in accordance with the Company policy,
  • Assist Operations Manager in risk assessment,
  • Supervise the selection, contracting, induction, oversight and monitoring of all aspects of the performance of subcontractors and subconsultants hired for the purpose of the project,
  • Negotiate the final terms and conditions of the Scope Of Work (inclusions, exclusions, schedule, penalties, requirements) under the supervision of the Operations Manager and the support of the Sales Manager,
  • Primary contact for Owner, Architect, Client, Designer, Engineer and subcontractors,
  • Responsible for kickoff meetings, designs, submittals, material ordering, prejob planning and scheduling,
  • Create and maintain job budget following the Company policy and the reporting schedule: actuals, forecasts, allowances for risks and opportunities, securing and assessment of pending change orders, synchronization with account software, etc.
  • Monitor AP/AR and ensure collection and payments of amounts due in a timely manner for the job,
  • Coordinate, review and submit project change orders, extra work orders, and back charge documentation,
  • Analyze, develop and submit claims,
  • Ensures that all Federal, State, Local, Company and projects safety regulations are met and enforced,
  • Ensure contractual and technical compliance for the project at all times,
  • In coordination with the Operations Manager, plan, organize, direct and control all daytoday operations and personnel for the project to perform the work properly and in a timely manner, per established policies, practices and procedures, while maximizing the profitability of the job without jeopardizing safety or quality,
  • Provide relevant information about the job's progress at Operations Manager's request,
  • Other duties as assigned

SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Education Requirements

  • Completion of a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering preferred
  • Completion of OSHA 10hour safety training
  • Currently holds a First Aid/CPR certificate

Experience Requirements

  • At least five (5) years of experience related to instrumentation and monitoring
  • Proficient with operational scheduling
  • Advanced knowledge (minimum five (5) years) in instrumentation and monitoring
  • Advanced knowledge of job costing programs and systems
  • Understanding of project risks and ability to make risk assessments
  • Proven experience with managing client meetings;

Technical Skill Requirements

  • Must be able to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, moving heavy materials up to 50 lbs., climbing, crawling as well as walking on uneven ground, and working long hours in all weather conditions.
  • Travel per the company travel policy, often overnight and away from home
  • Able to concentrate at a high degree in a busy and noisy construction environment
  • MS Word, Excel and Outlook relative to the reporting site construction and engineering activities
  • Ability to meet with clients; create and deliver presentations; and negotiate contracts
  • Ability to manage inhouse and subcontracted engineering services
  • Screening and evaluating project opportunities; and creation of presentatio
