What do you offer?

Some of the tasks of this position include:


  • Support Health and Safety program throughout Ottawa region
  • Complete workplace insurance claims and manage claim files
  • Support full cycle recruitment processes
  • Assist in recognition service anniversary, birthdays, and retirements
  • Prepare recruitment materials and manage internal and external postings using LinkedIn, Association website
  • Assist with interview question drafting
  • Participate in interviews, as needed
  • Participate in coordination of new employee onboarding and orientation
  • Maintain recruitment tracking documents and recruitment statistics
  • As per the Protecting Children, Youth, and Vulnerable Persons Policy, staff of the YMCA-YWCA will take allegations of abuse seriously
  • All staff members are familiar with their duty to report and the procedure for reporting suspected abuse or neglect of a child

What qualifications and abilities are we looking for?

Education

  • Postsecondary Certificate or Diploma in Human Resources

Language

  • Fluent in English, oral and written essential
  • Bilingualism an asset

Experience, Skills and Abilities

  • 1 year of experience Human Resources, focus on recruitment, an asset
  • Knowledge of the Employment Standards Act, Labour Relations Act, and the Human Rights Act
  • Understanding of principles, theories, and techniques related to interviewing, job analysis, and job descriptions is required
  • Solid understanding and utilization of Social Media platforms comfort in utilizing professional networking platforms such as LinkedIn as a recruitment tool
  • HRIS and MS Office experience is required

Additional Requirements

  • Applicants must already have a valid permit to work in Canada.
  • Criminal Reference Check for the Vulnerable Sector, not more than 6 months old is required.
  • Annually all staff must complete the mandatory training for the Protecting Children, Youth, and Vulnerable Persons, and submit the certificate of completion.
