Role:

The Ministry of Jobs, Economy, and Northern Development has an exciting opportunity and is looking for an Administrative Assistant to join our team


The Economic Development and Business Supports Division is focused on ensuring relationships and formal partnerships with business, communities and regions are fostered to increase market intelligence and inform strategic decisions by government and industry.

The Regional Economic Development Unit plays a leadership role in fostering collaboration and networks while gathering intelligence and experience across multiple economic sectors, regions and the North, furthering community and regional efforts to economic development opportunities.

Reporting to the Director, Regional Economic Development Services, the Administrative Assistant provides administrative services to the Regional Economic Development Unit


Primary responsibilities include:

  • Managing the Director's schedule
  • Coordinating and reviewing action requests and other briefing materials
  • Providing daily support services to unit staff, tracking unit expenses and ensuring compliance with records management practices
  • Supporting grant and contract management
  • Maintaining a close working relationship with the Director to provide effective support and communicate priority items

Qualifications:


Minimum Recruitment Standard:
High school diploma and three years of related experience.


Equivalency:

Directly related experience or education considered on the basis of: one year of experience for one year of education or one year of education for one year of experience.


Assets:
Knowledge of standard GoA systems such as ARTS, BERNIE, 1GX, Holman, OPRA.

A valid Alberta Driver's License with clean abstract is also considered an asset.

Salary:

$1,884.99 to $2,307.87 bi-weekly ($49, $60,235.41/year)

This is a permanent, full-time position working 36.25 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
