    Job Summary

    The RBC Team in Halifax is looking to fill multiple Engineer positions on the AML IT team. This role is based in Halifax with a requirement to be present in the office at least 3 days a week. As a Senior Quality Engineer Automation Lead, you will be responsible for supporting crucial business applications, conducting hands-on testing across various projects involving both front and back-end aspects, operating on platforms including Windows, Linux, Python, Java, MS SQL, and Oracle.

    The RBC Team in Halifax has openings for multiple Engineer roles within the AML IT team. This position is based in Halifax with a requirement to be present in the office at least 3 days a week. As a Senior Quality Engineer Automation Lead, your responsibilities include providing support for vital business applications, ensuring understanding of both front and back-end functionalities, and actively participating in testing various projects. The technology landscape ranges from Windows and Linux systems to Python, Java environments, and MS SQL and Oracle databases.

    WHAT WILL YOU DO?

    • Automate assigned areas/features using the Framework and estimate tests, develop automation scripts using Python & Unix.
    • Design effective test cases to enhance testing efficiency.
    • Ensure overall quality of testing deliverables and activities.
    • Implement QE Program and QE processes through continuous testing and reporting.
    • Utilize existing automation frameworks and tools to ensure a seamless testing process.
    • Experience in Python, SQL, and Unix testing platforms, code reviews, integration test automation.
    • Collaborate closely with the Application Development team to integrate quality engineering within the DevOps pipeline.
    • Partner with Sr. QE lead/ Manager to strategize QE approaches for application changes during testing.
    • Provide technical coaching, mentoring, training to QE practitioners and developers.

    WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?

    Must have:

    • 5-8 years of QE experience, with at least 2 years in test development on modern technologies and frameworks.
    • Proficiency in Testing Life Cycle, Shift left approach, Defect Management processes.
    • Familiarity with QE Processes, Methodologies, Test Design techniques, ALM, JIRA, Confluence.
    • Strong problem-solving, design, analytical skills, and innovative testing solutions in tight deadlines.
    • Experience with test automation frameworks/tools like Robot Framework, SoapUI, Selenium, TestNG, and scripting languages (Perl, Python, Bash, etc.)
    • Hands-on coding in Python, SQL, HDFS/HIVE, Cloudera, Helios.

    Nice-to-have:

    • QA-related certification (ISTQB, Agile testing, Mobile Testing).
    • Experience in Model-based testing and tools such as ConformIQ.
    • Degree/diploma in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
