Description
Seeking a qualified Functional and Safety Validation Test Engineer for the Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) Validation department.The ADAS Validation Engineer will be responsible for analyzing data, developing test plans, developing test scripts, and procedures, and executing test plans and procedures in a virtual environment (HIL, SIL, VIL etc) or on vehicle for validating ADAS functions and performances necessary to successfully launch ADAS features to production.
Review and help develop test procedures for various ADAS and Automated Driving features and applications.Create test scenarios for vehicle and virtual validation based on vehicle level function and safety requirements (FuSa, SOTIF, etc).
Utilize Proactive / DFSS / Resilient Engineering process for test scenario creation.Implement test procedures and execute tests on dSPACE HIL equipment or on vehicle.
Collect and analyze data and test results, apply statistical models and validation methods and report findings and results to the cross-functional team and senior management.
Design, implement, verify and maintain test scripts for test automation.Interface various vehicle control modules to the current dSPACE simulation equipment.
Support development of the HIL plant models as it pertains to the dSPACE I/O layer.
Support vehicle testing at the proving ground for correlation of virtual and physical validation.
Work experience - Entry level.
Ability to read and analyze digital communications data (CAN/LIN/Ethernet).
Proficient in Matlab/Simulink/Python.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly present technical material to individuals at all levels of the organization.
Desire to work on vehicles and in a test environment (hands-on).Will be required to drive a company car. Valid driver's license is required as well as a clean driving record. Will be required to travel periodically between Auburn Hills (for training and development) and occasionally Chelsea Michigan (for testing).
Flexible Working Hours
~ ADAS testing is to be performed during the day and at night (after dark). The candidate must be flexible enough to work during the day or night as the test plan dictates.
1 Year experience and/or academic research in an automotive engineering environment.
~ Master of Science in Electrical, Computer, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent Engineering degree from an accredited university.
~ Experience with setting up and executing VIL testing.
~ Experience with Vector CAN tools/gateways (CANape, CANalyzer, or CANoe) for data collection, analysis, and vehicle diagnostics.
~ Experience with various vehicle networking including CAN, CANFD, and Automotive Ethernet.
~ Experience utilizing general engineering tools FMEA, DVP&R, Lessons Learned.
~ Background in DFSS, System Behavioral Testing or Reactive Problem solving.
~ Demonstrated ability to validate system/feature function and testing metrics to ensure end design meets functional intent.
~ Bachelor of Science in Electrical, Computer, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent Engineering degree from an accredited university.
