Position Overview To be considered successful in this role, you'll be expected to safely unload/load trucks and railcars with hot asphalt.

You'll also help ensure the safe and efficient operation of the asphalt terminal which includes the production of the quality asphalt products.

You'll also be expected to perform rail switching and railcar mover operations.
Please note this a permanent, full-time, seasonal position (approximately March 1 – December 1).
Here is a preview of what you'll be doing:
Become proficient in all aspects of terminal operation
Handle multiple responsibilities including customer service, monitor efficiencies, use the truck scale, write safe work permits, and assist in asphalt orders
Load/unload trucks/railcars with hot asphalt product
Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot systems within the terminal
General maintenance, cleaning, housekeeping, and snow removal
This is what we need from you:
Rail, switching, and track mobile experience is a must .
Be mechanically inclined
A strong commitment to maintaining safe work practicesat all times
Ability to handle challenges and problem-solve
Willingness to develop your knowledge in emulsion production and quality control, and a technical understanding of different products
Additional skills we'll strongly consider to be an asset:
Previous transload or experience with an asphalt terminal
Knowledge of Safe Work Permits and LOTO
Experience in a plant setting, petrochemical area, or other industrial environment

Here are some of the requirements for this role:

Ability to:
work at heights
swing a 10-lb sledgehammer
walk extensively, sometimes on uneven terrain
lift a minimum 50 lbs.
Work and stand on uneven surfaces for prolonged periods of time
Work outside for extended periods of time, in all weather conditions
Work while wearing a SCBA respirator (note that this is a clean-shaven work site)
Candidates are required to clear a criminal background check, drug screen, and preemployment medical examination.
Attend and pass all job-required tests (WHMIS, TDG, H2S, Fall Arrest, First Aid, and all other site-specific training, as required)
