Description

The position will include the following accountabilities:

Leadership

  • Build support and engagement for corporate initiatives and objectives; and
  • Demonstrate Rice values and commitment to Rice Vision & Mission.

Customer Service

  • Complete the process of fulfilling customers' quotations and orders to ensure that they receive the right product, the right price, the right quantity at a time when they require it,
Determine customer requirements, including but not limited to, price, delivery, product & technical demands.

Determine product availability and coordinate with manufacturing / purchasing to confirm ship dates to customers

Provide technical knowledge, support and recommendations to customers in order to meet or exceed their service and performance requirements

Provide support to customers when responding to their requests for returns, order tracking and other performance concerns

Provide industry, market, customer information and order status, to other sales personnel and Management, in a timely manner

Maintain complete and accurate records of all customer information and transactions

  • Overall Customer Satisfaction.

Inside Sales
Total Revenue & Gross Margin contribution, with goals by Account, Market Segment, and Item Class Group

Maximize each interaction for revenue & gross margin, by proactively upselling and recommending additional or alternative items needed by customers;
Increase average order size, sell price, and transaction volume

Increase average quote size, win rate and transaction volume

Completing sales and marketing programs, including offering promotional items and advantage programs

Identify and qualify new business opportunities for the outside sales personnel

Increase sale and profitability by providing continual feedback to sales management on pricing performance

Perform other sales duties or projects as assigned.


Other


As a member of a small team, you may from time to time be asked to perform other duties as required.


These may include but are not limited to:
Receiving shipments, Fulfilling and shipping customer orders and inter-branch transfers


Required Skills, Education & Competences
Previous experience in any order desk role strongly preferred.

Superior customer management, trouble shooting and problem resolution skills.

Excellent business and sales acumen to resolve customer inquiries and issues while maximizing sales and profitability.

Function independently with a high degree of productivity, proficiency and accuracy.

Verbally communicates openly, clearly and concisely when interacting with others, working cooperatively to identify opportunities to improve performance.

Capable of communicating technical and operational knowledge about our products and services.

Reliable, dependable and trustworthy.

Manages and achieves all assigned goals and objectives.

Intermediate skills for MS Office, Microsoft Dynamics CRM, and general computer proficiency.

Effective time management and task prioritization.

Post-Secondary degree or diploma.


Physical Demands /Working Conditions
Travel may be required.

Valid driver's license.

Work at a desk for extended periods of time.

Occasionally perform repetitive tasks.

Lift up to 50 lbs.

Forklift operation (operation will be trained)
