ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Functional Experience
- Achieve/exceed production quality & quantity targets while maximizing economic resources and recovery.
- Interface with management to ensure smooth coordination of scheduling and maximization of schedule adherence; provide input, identify needs and receive direction on staffing increases or decreases.
- Ensure that direct reports and area of accountability meet all requirements with regards to legislated regulations, company policies and practices, and collective agreement
- Assess assignments during shift to ensure that schedules are being attained, and/or take corrective actions as required. Complete all production and/or maintenance related reports and communicate status to oncoming shift(s), ensuring proper records are maintained and the correct information is documented.
- Control inventories of consumables and supplies, and order materials to achieve production and/or maintenance schedules.
- Continue with "Lean" process initiatives.
- Continuously look for opportunities for improvement regarding planning and scheduling functions that support internal customers.
- Perform other duties as assigned to meet business needs.
- Ensure crew qualifications are kept current for required work assignments, and schedule training as required.
- Provide performance feedback to team members, ensure effective performance improvement plans are initiated and appropriate disciplinary action taken that aligns with company policies and meets corporate guidelines.
- Review & communicate risk management situations with crew members at preshift discussions. Follow notification protocols for incidents and initiate onshift investigations
- Approve time for the team members within the area of responsibility
- Motivates and challenges employees, delegates effectively, rewards contributions and manages collaboratively.
- Manage staff and assigns specific duties
- Coach & counsel employees on the standards of behavior, and take corrective actions as required, including discipline and grievance management
- Continuously improve the performance of the production & maintenance frontline team through effective use of established processes and procedures.
- Ensure that accountability exists among direct staff regarding agreed upon performance against standards and benchmarks and on performance towards achieving the departments goals and objectives.
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES
- Excellent interpersonal and people management skills.
- Strong verbal/written communication skills.
- Ability to work and interface with all departments.
- Ability to identify and resolve issues or concerns tactfully in a timely manner.
- Ability to gather and analyze information
- Familiarity with hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical, instrumentation and control systems
EXPERIENCE
- 3 to 5 years as a Supervisory and or Team Leader overseeing employees/Team Members in manufacturing environment is required
- Knowledge of and experience with Lean and 5S principles
- Experience working in an environment that was ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 certified
EDUCATION
- High School Diploma or GED Certificate

Ability to commute/relocate:

Experience:
- supervisor/team leader in manufacturing: 3 years (required)
- troubleshooting in an industrial environment: 2 years (required)
- ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001: 1 year (required)
