The Solution Verifier is responsible for defining, maintaining and implementing the System Verification Plan, and overseeing the verification tasks performed by each department (i.e., discipline).

The Solution Verifier delegates certain verification activities such as, design reviews and inspections to competent and independent individuals from different departments (Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Integration and Testing).

The Solution Verifier evaluates the Discipline Verifiers competencies and independence required to perform specific verification tasks within the respective discipline.

In addition, the Solution Verifier reviews and approves the verification methodology (techniques, tools, checklists) developed by Discipline Verifiers.

The Discipline Verifiers are responsible for the verification tasks assigned to their respective engineering discipline and producing the verification evidence (e.g., completed checklist, traceability matrix).

The Solution Verifier monitors the correct implementation of the verification strategy and performs sample checks of the artefacts verified by the Discipline Verifiers.

The sample typically consists of at least 10% of the discipline-verified artefact however, it can be increased if necessary (e.g., based on frequency and severity of the issues found).
