Job Summary:


The Maintenance supervisor is responsible for improving the safe and productive operation of the foundry, mainly through leading preventative maintenance (PM) practices that ensure the uninterrupted operation of equipment and facilities.


The Maintenance supervisor's primary duties are:

Provide supervision and direction to maintenance team, developing and implementing a preventative maintenance program which includes; assigning tasks to maintenance staff, scheduling specific tasks and ordering materials related to preventative maintenance.

Working with outside contractors & suppliers. Duties will also include detailed planning for summer, winter extended maintenance shutdowns and capital projects.

Core Responsibilities:
_Include but are not limited to,_

  • Ensure a safe and productive work environment by educating and directing employees and ensuring compliance with all company policies and procedures.
  • Accomplish organizational KPI targets.
  • Under the direction of the Plant Manager, responsible for the implementation and execution of maintenance activities and procedures essential for Safety, Production, Quality, On time Delivery.
  • Provide supervision and direction to maintenance team.
  • Assigning PM tasks on all equipment in and around plant
  • Set priorities for preventative maintenance work orders, maintenance requisitions and scheduled work.
  • Facilitate outside contractors when required.
  • Communicating PM task expectations to maintenance team,
  • Initiating, coordinating and enforcing PM systems, policies and procedures. (accountability)
  • Providing employees with informal feedback on a daily basis;
  • Receiving regular feedback from employees and taking appropriate action; and,
  • Resolving problems by analyzing data, investigating issues, identifying solutions
  • Communicating directly with employees in a timely manner.
  • Communicating above three points with Leadership team.
  • Support Production Leadership team to maximize overall safety, productivity, product quality and reduce costs (Planned PM during production hours).
  • Maintain positive relationships by following terms of the collective bargaining agreement (CBA).
  • Conduct process and safety audits as assigned.
  • Conduct all activities and execute all duties with enthusiasm and a positive, results
- focused attitude.

  • Support company initiatives and policies enthusiastically.
  • Other duties as assigned

Shift:


  • Monday to Friday (8 hours)

Education Required:


  • High school diploma
  • Trades/Engineering Certification (Mechanical, Electrical) _is an asset_
  • Project Management Training _is an asset_
  • WH&S training _is an asset _
  • Knowledge of Budget preparation and interpretation
  • Computer Literacy
  • Communication/Leadership/Supervisory skills training

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in an Industrial Maintenance/Manufacturing Environment
  • Demonstrated employee supervision and leadership.
  • Ability to effectively communicate.
  • Demonstrated estimating / job planning / organizational skills.
  • Team player who is willing to learn.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Punctual and reliable attendance.
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Proficient ability to read, write and communicate in English.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
