THE ROLE

Mess Job Fair
You are invited to the Mess Job Fair.

This is a great opportunity to connect with a CFMWS recruiter, meet the Mess Team, and interview for various positions available at the Canadian Forces Messes in the National Capital Region.

When:
Saturday April 15th 2023, from 11am - 3pm

Where: 4 Queen Elizabeth Drive, Ottawa, ON at the NDHQ Warrant Officers' & Sergeants' Mess Beaver Lounge.

Steeped in a rich military heritage and tradition, messes have been used by the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) throughout Canada's history to foster morale and promote military values including camaraderie and unit cohesiveness.

Messes give members a strong sense of commitment to the ideas, objectives and the basic responsibility expected of them within the CAF and set the standard for military service within Canada.

CFMWS provides support to all CAF messes.

Specifically, PSP Hospitality Services provides expertise on operational and management practices and assists mess managers in providing quality mess hospitality services.

Under the supervision of the Lead Cook, the Kitchen Helper assists with the removal of dirty dishes from tables, stocks shelves and cleans work areas.

The kitchen helper sets up and cleans the kitchen and dining room for functions. They receive, prepare, wash, and place dishes in appropriate storage area. The kitchen helper ensures the kitchen area is clean and in an orderly manner, sweeps and mops floors.

QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED Education, Certifications and Licenses**An acceptable combination of education, training, and experience will be considered

AND
Food Handling Certification, as required

Experience
In dishwashing
In general kitchen help duties

Knowledge
Of health and safety practices
Of commercial dishwashing supplies

Competencies, Skills and Abilities
Client focus, organizational knowledge, communication, innovation, teamwork and leadership.

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS
English or French Essential. Bilingual an Asset.
