General Manager

REPORTS TO:

Board of Directors

JOB OVERVIEW:

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

Oversee daytoday operations
Design strategy and set goals for growth
Maintain budgets and optimize expenses
Set policies and processes
Ensure employees work productively and develop professionally
Oversee recruitment and training of new employees
Evaluate and improve operations and financial performance
Direct the employee assessment process
Prepare regular reports for upper management
Ensure staff follows health and safety regulations
Provide solutions to issues (e.g. profit decline, employee conflicts, loss of business to competitors
Supervisors Processes throughout hatchery to maintain optimal hatches.
Business Scheduling
Supervises and coaches Managers to meet hatcherys goals
Identify and work with HR to develop and train as required.
Ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations
Ensure compliance for Animal Welfare
Oversees health and safety concerns.
Work with Management team to ensure paperwork and records are completed accurately and maintained
Work with Quality Assurance on problem sanitation areas.

Requirements:

Proven experience as a General Manager or similar executive role
Agriculture knowledge an asset (Poultry but not required)
3 plus years leadership and coaching experience
Experience in planning and budgeting
Knowledge of business process and functions (finance, HR, procurement, operations etc.)
Strong analytical ability
Excellent communication skills
Outstanding organizational and leadership skills
Problemsolving aptitude
Team building
Strong organizational skills; detailed oriented; ability to multitask; problem solver
Strong computer knowledge including Microsoft, outlook, excel
Excellent communication both verbal and written
Customer Service (assist logistics/hatch with loads planning)
Business skill to build budgets and track financials
May be Trilliums Representative For OBHECC, OHAin the future
Monitor Production and industry trends
Balance sales and over head
Monitor Disease outbreaks
Build processor relationships under Board direction
SM5 supply management
Monitor/manage producer credit adjustments
