REPORTS TO:

Board of Directors


JOB OVERVIEW:


RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

  • Oversee daytoday operations
  • Design strategy and set goals for growth
  • Maintain budgets and optimize expenses
  • Set policies and processes
  • Ensure employees work productively and develop professionally
  • Oversee recruitment and training of new employees
  • Evaluate and improve operations and financial performance
  • Direct the employee assessment process
  • Prepare regular reports for upper management
  • Ensure staff follows health and safety regulations
  • Provide solutions to issues (e.g. profit decline, employee conflicts, loss of business to competitors
  • Supervisors Processes throughout hatchery to maintain optimal hatches.
  • Business Scheduling
  • Supervises and coaches Managers to meet hatcherys goals
  • Identify and work with HR to develop and train as required.
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations
  • Ensure compliance for Animal Welfare
  • Oversees health and safety concerns.
  • Work with Management team to ensure paperwork and records are completed accurately and maintained
  • Work with Quality Assurance on problem sanitation areas.

Requirements:


  • Proven experience as a General Manager or similar executive role
  • Agriculture knowledge an asset (Poultry but not required)
  • 3 plus years leadership and coaching experience
  • Experience in planning and budgeting
  • Knowledge of business process and functions (finance, HR, procurement, operations etc.)
  • Strong analytical ability
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Outstanding organizational and leadership skills
  • Problemsolving aptitude
  • Team building
  • Strong organizational skills; detailed oriented; ability to multitask; problem solver
  • Strong computer knowledge including Microsoft, outlook, excel
  • Excellent communication both verbal and written
  • Customer Service (assist logistics/hatch with loads planning)
  • Business skill to build budgets and track financials
  • May be Trilliums Representative For OBHECC, OHAin the future
  • Monitor Production and industry trends
  • Balance sales and over head
  • Monitor Disease outbreaks
  • Build processor relationships under Board direction
  • SM5 supply management
  • Monitor/manage producer credit adjustments
