THE ROLE

MANAGER OF NATIONAL DEVELOPMENT - REAL ESTATE


Reporting to the Director, Development - Real Estate, the Manager of Development - Real Estate is responsible for the day-to-day management of the Development Department's Real Estate and Leasing Process, including providing support for franchising and real estate matters for SLF Operations Limited Partnership along with Wing City and any other brands under the Aegis Brands portfolio.

The purpose will be to support corporate and franchise growth throughout Canada and international expansion plans as required.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Participate in the preparation of a national development plan/ area strategy business plan to be reviewed and updated on an annual basis.
  • Develop relationships with landlords, brokers, property managers and developers to build the development pipelines for current and future years.
  • Lead initial deal negotiations and oversee process for obtaining senior management approval for new sites with support from internal departments including, but not limited to, Analytics, Construction and Operations.
  • Correspond with external counsel regarding lease negotiations and other real estate related documentation as may be required from time to time.
  • Manage drafting and amending real estate documents, including but not limited to: Letters of Intent, Offers to Lease, condition waiver letters, and other ancillary documents as required from time to time.
  • Assist with the administration of leases and all other real estate related documentation.
  • Establish and maintain a professional relationships with all coworkers, franchisees, landlords, and property managers within the
  • Serve as a liaison with landlords and provide support as required by Franchisees and internal departments including Construction, Finance, Franchising, and Development.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • A minimum of 34 years of retail development experience is
  • Franchise, and/or real estate experience required. Familiarization with the industry of real estate relating to restaurants, and experience interacting with Developers is
  • Must possess knowledge of Leases, Offers to Lease and experience negotiating Leases and Letters of
  • Experience working with Franchise documents, issuing, and reviewing maintenance of the document is considered an
  • Must be computer literate in MS Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively and efficiently in multitasking environment with high volume
  • Comfortable working in a teambased, openconcept environment, yet demonstrates the ability to work independently with business

OTHER INFORMATION

  • Flexibility is required as this position requires travel, including evenings weekends and overnight travel.
  • Travel throughout Canada to current stores and potential sites will be required.
