Description

Your primary responsibility will be to plan and create project and production schedules for Can-Traffic Construction and Maintenance street light and traffic signal activities.

Collaborating with various levels of supervision, you'll ensure that projects and maintenance activities are planned and executed safely and thoroughly.


Responsibilities

  • Participate in the planning and schedule preparation process during pursuits and respond to RFP documents in projects.
  • Participate in interactive planning sessions and hold meetings with Construction and Maintenance to review and adjust preliminary schedules for initial distribution.
  • Coordinating the overall planning and scheduling activities on projects
  • Develop the sequence and lead time to align with the client's forecasted master schedule.
  • Prior to project start, create and revise preliminary master schedules and proposal for Operations detailing the sequence of all work to be performed to ensure schedule is realistic and competitive.
  • Maintain the integrity of the master schedule for each project and identify and record the impact of work performed according to the schedule.
  • Track the contract document requirements for schedule adherence, as well as change orders and contract amendments. May interface with clients, attend regular meetings and give statistical reports.
  • Analyzing risks to project schedules and identify unplanned events (new changes/ unforeseen conditions) and incorporate their impacts into the schedule.
  • Coordinate with project team to develop revision or recovery schedules as needed.
  • Provide project cost estimates and cost analysis.
  • Performing variance analysis
  • Performing other duties as assigned

Skills and Abilities

Detail‐oriented, strong organizational skills, and able to establish goals and objectives within designated time frames.

  • Ability to plan, schedule and assign work of crews including training and communication updates.
  • Ability to create, understand and manage complex budgets.
  • Ability to be adaptable, manage multiple priorities and work in a fastpaced environment.
  • Ability to review specifications and drawings to gather project information and develop project plans.
  • Ability to problem solve and effectively identify issues to develop and implement solutions for resolution.
  • Display a high‐level of integrity in all actions, complying with and promoting the company's core values, a respectful work environment, and aligning with the code of business conduct.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the Alberta Electrical Code.
  • Proficient in the MS suite: MSWord, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.

Qualifications
-
Post-secondary degree, or specialized training/certificate in a related field

  • Minimum 5 years experience scheduling, coordinating and supporting field service crews.
  • Registered as an EngineerinTraining (E.I.T) with APEGA or Registered as a Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T.) with ASET is an asset.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) designation is an asset.
