    ONE KIDS PLACE – Children's Treatment Centre provides rehabilitation and related support services for children and youth (up to the age of 19) and their families living in the Districts of Muskoka, Nipissing and Parry Sound. All staff will provide service within an interdisciplinary team environment committed to family-centered practice.


    POSITION: Occupational Therapist (Permanent Full Time)

    POSITION SUMMARY: The Occupational Therapist provides assessment, consultation, clinical analysis and treatment planning to assist children and youth to achieve their optimum rehabilitation potential in all areas of activities of daily living, fine motor abilities, perception and sensory integration. Note that clinical supervision of therapy assistants and family and community partner education will be important components of all positions.

    JOB DUTIES:

    • Provides quality family-centered care through assessment, establishing a clinical analysis and treatment programs to assist children/youth in achieving their maximal functional ability in the areas of activities of daily living, fine motor abilities, perception, sensory integration and cognition.
    • Utilizes therapeutic techniques / modalities as necessary in the provision of therapy.
    • Documents client-related activities and workload practices according to One Kids Place and College standards and maintains client confidentiality and privacy.
    • Communicates effectively and ensures continuity of care by making treatment decisions in close collaboration with the child/youth/family, other rehabilitation staff and other community service providers as part of an inter-disciplinary team.
    • Educates the child/youth, family and other caregivers in the condition/disease process and specific treatment/intervention suggestions to ensure appropriate follow-through of daily activities and programs. The focus may be prevention, maintenance and/or treatment for the child/youth and family.
    • Provides clinical supervision within the discipline's scope of practice to designated support personnel and/or placement students.
    • Provides equipment recommendations / prescriptions and/or refers children/youth to appropriate services.
    • Acts as a resource/educator for the children/youth, families, staff, students, professionals and communities through the facilitation, development and implementation of education programs.
    • Participates in the orientation and training of new staff members, placement students and/or volunteers.
    • Pursues on-going professional development and growth.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Degree in Occupational Therapy
    • Current registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario
    • 2 years related work experience within a pediatric/health care setting with children and youth with special needs preferred, however new graduates are encouraged to apply
    • Working knowledge of community resources and supports within the Districts of Muskoka, Nipissing and Parry Sound
    • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills/Excellent oral and written communication skills
    • Valid Ontario driver's license, proof of insurance and reliable vehicle
    • Computer competency in word applications and Internet
    • Bilingual (English/French)/ADP authorizer is an asset
    • Proof of COVID Vaccinations as required by the sector

    COMPENSATION: $38.77- $46.17 hourly (depending on prior experience as per our Collective Agreement).

    LA PLACE DES ENFANTS – Centre de traitement pour enfants offre des services de réadaptation et des services de soutien connexes aux enfants et aux jeunes (jusqu'à l'âge de 19 ans) vivant dans les districts de Muskoka, Nipissing et Parry Sound, ainsi qu'à leurs familles.     SOMMAIRE DU POSTE : L'ergothérapeute offre des services d'évaluation, de consultation, et de planification du traitement afin d'aider les enfants et les jeunes à bénéficier d'une réadaptation optimale dans tous les domaines des soins personnels, de la productivité et des loisirs, de la perception et des capacités cognitives avec une perspective pédiatrique. Notez que la supervision clinique des assistants en thérapie et la formation des partenaires de la famille et de la communauté seront des éléments importants de tous les postes.

    FONCTIONS DU POSTE :

    • Fournit des soins de qualité axés sur la famille grâce à l'évaluation, à l'établissement d'une analyse clinique et à des programmes de traitement pour aider les enfants/adolescents à atteindre leur capacité fonctionnelle maximale dans les domaines des activités de la vie quotidienne, de la motricité fine, de la perception, integration sensorielle, et de la cognition.
    • Utilise des techniques / modalités thérapeutiques selon les besoins dans la prestation de la thérapie.
    • Documente les activités liées aux clients et les pratiques de charge de travail conformément aux normes du de la Place des Enfants et du collège et maintient la confidentialité et la vie privée des clients.
    • Communique efficacement et assure la continuité des soins en prenant des décisions de traitement en étroite collaboration avec l'enfant/le jeune/la famille, d'autres membres du personnel de réadaptation et d'autres fournisseurs de services communautaires dans le cadre d'une équipe interdisciplinaire.
    • Éduque l'enfant/adolescent, la famille et les autres soignants sur le processus de l'état/la maladie et sur les suggestions de traitement/d'intervention spécifiques pour assurer un suivi approprié des activités et des programmes quotidiens. L'accent peut être mis sur la prévention, le maintien et/ou le traitement de l'enfant/adolescent et de la famille.
    • Fournit une supervision clinique dans le cadre de la pratique de la discipline au personnel de soutien désigné et/ou aux stagiaires.
    • Fournit des recommandations/ordonnances d'équipement et/ou oriente les enfants/jeunes vers les services appropriés.
    • Agit en tant que ressource/éducateur pour les enfants/jeunes, les familles, le personnel, les étudiants, les professionnels et les communautés par la facilitation, le développement et la mise en œuvre de programmes éducatifs.
    • Participe à l'orientation et à la formation des nouveaux membres du personnel, des stagiaires et/ou des bénévoles.
    • Poursuivre le développement et la croissance professionnels continus.
    • Autres tâches assignées.


    QUALIFICATIONS :

    • Diplôme en ergothérapie
    • Inscription en règle auprès de l'Ordre des ergothérapeutes de l'Ontario
    • Expérience de travail pertinente au cours des deux dernières années dans un milieu pédiatrique ou de soins de santé, avec des enfants et des jeunes ayant des besoins spéciaux de préférence, cependant, les nouveaux diplômés sont encouragés à postuler
    • Connaissance pratique des ressources et des soutiens communautaires dans les districts de Muskoka, Nipissing et Parry Sound
    • Excellentes compétences de relations interpersonnelles, d'organisation et de communication verbale et écrite
    • Permis de conduire de l'Ontario en vigueur et véhicule fiable
    • Maîtrise de l'utilisation de logiciels et capacité de s'adapter pour effectuer des évaluations, préparer des documents, effectuer de la programmation et communiquer.
    • Le bilinguisme (français/anglais) est requis et le statut d'autorisateur du PAAF est préféré
    • Preuve de vaccination contre le COVID-19, telle qu'exigée dans le secteur

    RÉMUNÉRATION : 38,77 $ - 46,17 $ par heure (selon l'expérience antérieure selon notre convention collective).
