    Description

    King Animal Hospital is seeking a Part-Time Small Animal Primary Care Veterinarian (DVM) for our sister organization Dog Tales Rescue and Sanctuary.

    You will play a key role in providing exceptional medicine and care for patients and will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on their well-being and health.

    As the sole lead Veterinarian, manage a varied and interesting caseload for a compassionate organization dedicated to the absolute best care for rescued animals.

    Provide veterinary services any two days of each week for our client a large rescue organization, Dog Tales Rescue & Sanctuary with the support of experienced and skilled Registered Veterinary Technicians and Animal Care Attendants.

    Develop relationships with patients and King Animal Hospital Emergency Services and Referral Specialists as a referring veterinarian.

    If it is of interest and if the candidate has the appropriate experience this could be a hybrid role of Emergency Services DVM within King Animal Hospital and a Primary Care DVM supporting Dog Tales Rescue & Sanctuary.

    Your primary team at Dog Tales Rescue & Sanctuary includes a dedicated support team of experienced and skilled Registered Veterinary Technicians with long tenure as well as additional support staff including dog walkers and animal care attendants.

    Through King Animal Hospital, you will refer to and collaborate with a cohesive team of approximately 160 staff.

    This team includes an In-House Social Worker and Board-Certified Specialists including Orthopedic Surgeon, Soft Tissue Surgeon, Anesthesiologists, Neurologists, Oncologist, Critical Care Specialists, Ophthalmologists, Dermatologists, Rehabilitation Specialists, Emergency Services Specialists, and a dedicated support team of RVTs and ACAs.

    Dog Tales Rescue and Sanctuary is a world-renowned dog rescue and horse sanctuary set on fifty acres of green fields, rolling hills, and wooded areas in King City, Ontario.

    The picturesque location - complete with kilometers of walking trails, and therapy pools, is the perfect setting for abused and neglected animals to heal and rehabilitate while they wait for forever homes.

    Dog Tales is home to over seventy horses saved from the meat market, mules, cows, pigs, hogs, and fowl.

    As a small animal veterinarian, you will support and serve approximately one hundred dogs and a number of felines that reside at the Sanctuary at any given time.

    Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree or equivalent and a minimum of two years' experience practicing as a primary care or emergency services veterinarian.

    Provincial licensing in Ontario from the College of Veterinarians of Ontario (CVO) or ability to obtain licensing is required.

    Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to maintain accurate medical records.
