PURPOSE


Under the supervision of the Sales Supervisor, the Technical Sales Representative is responsible for providing field technical sales support to customers of John Brooks Company in various markets and industries.

The incumbent will be responsible for consultative field sales activities - both generating and closing sales opportunities, necessary to maintain and grow business for Filtration products.

Our Technical Sales Representatives are responsible for overall customer satisfaction, while meeting or exceeding the territory sales and profitability targets.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for providing top quality field technical sales support to customers for filtration products and filtration systems
  • Manage & service existing business/ client base within sales territory
  • Establish and maintain professional business relations with new and existing customers
  • Prospect, generate, and qualify sales opportunities and leads; conduct sales calls/meetings, provide recommendations, and discuss product options & opportunities
  • CRM management; create, submit, track, and update statuses of all proposals, quotations, and customer inquiries in Maximizer
  • Participate in joint calls with managements, suppliers, and other division representatives
  • Liaise regularly with internal team members; provide product and system technical support, and assist with product selection and proposals
  • Participate in joint calls with strategic suppliers in order to discover new opportunities, or to help strengthen the Company offering
  • Set professional development goals and works towards their fulfillment; attend all required training

QUALIFICATIONS

Essential:


  • College Diploma in a related field
  • Minimum 13 years of related experience
  • Proficient sales skills and a keen desire to continue developing those skills
  • Advanced computer skills; proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word etc.)
  • A hunter mindset with a strong technical aptitude and a general understanding of industrial processes
  • Must demonstrate interpersonal savvy in order to build and maintain relationships
  • Excellent time management, communication, and problemsolving skills
  • Strong presentation skills and experience preparing professional PowerPoint decks
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Demonstrated alignment with John Brooks values; customer first, ownership/accountability, respect, performance excellent, integrity and innovation

Desirable:


  • Working knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software systems

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Fastpaced environment in a dynamic competitive industry
  • Exposure to deadlines, multiple demands and priorities, multitasking, and interruptions
  • Day travel to customer & supplier sites
  • Long distance travel to customer & supplier sites, overnight travel as required approx. 5%
  • Home office location, when not travelling
  • Ability to lift 45lbs, on occasion
