About Us

Job overview
This position is a 12-18 month contract as a Maternity Leave coverage.


Responsibilities:


  • Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure
  • Ensure timely and accurate monthly financial statement and internal management reporting
  • Prepare monthly internal reporting package
  • Prepare monthly external reporting to shareholders
  • Prepare quarterly external reporting to lenders, and others as required
  • Supervise staff in, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and General Accounting
  • Ensure all key financial reconciliation are performed in a timely and accurate manner
  • Enhance and continuously improve the reporting process, including opportunities to reduce cycle time, as appropriate
  • Ensure proper internal controls are in place in all departments and are being followed
  • Manage the annual yearend audit process
  • Oversee commodity tax filings
  • Assist in the annual budget process
  • Assist in Policy development
  • Other duties as assigned

Skills and Qualifications:


  • 10 years in a finance supervisory/ managerial role including Payroll, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.
  • CPA Accounting designation (CPA, CGA or CPA, CMA or CPA, CA)
  • Experience with Sage 300, Business Intelligence reporting, and MISys an asset
  • Experience with multicurrency financial systems
  • Experience with US State Tax compliance an asset
  • Thorough knowledge of Canadian GAAP
  • Experience with standard costing and working in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong knowledge of internal controls
  • Possess a strong work ethic and ability to meet deadlines
  • Takes ownership of tasks and sees them through to completion
  • Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to problem solving
  • Acute attention to detail
  • Ability and desire to motivate and train team members
  • Experience in systems implementations is an asset
