    The Opportunity
    Our Heartland Liquids Field Operations Team is looking to add an #EnergyProblemSolver in our Fort McMurray Maintenance Office to support the growing needs of our business.

    We are seeking a Pipeline Technician who is a self-motivating team player. In this role the successful candidate will apply skills and aptitude to repair, install, troubleshoot, and perform planned maintenance and corrective tasks on pipeline valves, actuators, gearboxes, and other related components. With your skills and expertise, you will perform One-Call line locates, assist with line crossings, encroachment issues, Agreement reviews and provide feedback to our crossings department, pipeline isolations, flooding and draining of assets general Right of Way (ROW) maintenance activities, perform excavations, and perform other tasks as required.

    What You'll Do

    • Participate in One-Call responsibilities related to locating and protecting TC Energy Assets
    • Complete basic "as built" prints and update related documentation with respect to "One Call" and pipeline related schematics
    • Service and troubleshoot valve, actuator and gearbox issues (Valvitalia , EIM , Rotork , General, Cameron)
    • Identify and respond/document encroachment issues
    • Assist with TC Energy In-line inspection tool program (Cleaning tools, Batch pigs, Smart balls, Eclipse tools)
    • Review and approve isolation and drain down procedures
    • Assist with pipeline isolations and liquid movement duties
    • Respond to one calls and own the responsibility of pipeline integrity

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Minimum high school diploma or equivalency
    • Technical trade qualification (i.e. Millwright, Pipefitter, etc.) preferred
    • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
    • Highly motivated and disciplined with strong interpersonal skills to effectively work in a geographically dispersed team environment
    • Able to complete tasks and assignments in a safe and environmentally responsible manner, includes ensuring proper handling and disposition of hazardous waste
    • Competent using equipment applicable to the maintenance of pipeline systems
    • Current with technological advances in the oil pipeline field
    • Able to use computers and e-mail for internal and external communication, record keeping, maintenance management

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Other industry related certification and/or related pipeline/facility, construction/maintenance, and industry experience
    • Computerized Maintenance Management System and SAP experience
    • Experience with the interpretation of technical reference documents
    • Motor operated valve experience

    Additional role requirements

    • Successfully complete a pre-employment medical screening, including drug and alcohol testing
    • Be subject to hazardous conditions including adverse weather, heights, lifting, and cramped conditions
    • Be available for overtime, extended work hours, and call-outs as needed
    • Participate in an On-call rotation
    • Travel to other company locations for temporary assignments, meetings or training which would involve some overnight stays away from home
    • This position is overtime eligible, part of an on-call rotation and may be requested to provide support during emergency response incidents or extended days due to operational needs, as required.

    *Flying in helicopters is a requirement

    *The successful candidate will be travelling from designated airports (Calgary or Edmonton) to Fort McMurray. Camp accommodation and transportation will be provided for.

    *This position is for work under a rotational schedule residing in camp facilities located near the report to work site.

    *This position also will be required to travel to other company locations for temporary assignments, meetings or training.
