Job Summary:


The Digital Print Operator reviews and pre flights files generated by clients to ensure that proper format, appearance and layout of text and images are set before the files are sent to print.

This position sets the foundation for the successful printing production.

The role works closely with other staff members to meet and exceed customer satisfaction as well as schedule the client's timeline expectations.


Major Responsibilities:


  • Coordinate with Production Management to produce and prioritize jobs
  • Prepare work orders for print production
  • Setup and preflight customer files for printing
  • Scanning to file of hardcopy drawings and small format documents
  • Operate small & wide format printers and scanners to process drawings including reductions, enlargements, scaling and metric conversions
  • Maintain conformance to company established safety, quality and production standards
  • Accurately record time and material using timesheets
  • Troubleshoot rip and proof problems
  • Be aware and capable of all Calibration procedures for all proofs
  • Deal with customers as necessary
  • Take an active role in quality management and process improvement
  • Check drawings and small format documents for correct order
  • Proof finished product for any errors and provide final quality check prior to packaging
  • Ensure binding and packaging is neat
  • Ensure that packaging is completed as per transmittals / instructions
  • Manual collation of various materials as necessary
  • Monitor and ensure quality of finished pieces and kitted materials
  • Accurately and neatly package finished product for delivery or distribution
  • Maintain cleanliness of work area and department
