    Job Description

    The Vice President, Industrial and Mobility Business Sectors, Business Assurance North America, directs and develops profitable and sustainable business sectors within Business Assurance in US and Canada. Ensures each business sector successfully meets financial and operational objectives. Engages with the commercial, service delivery, and technical teams to drive the daily operations of the business. Develops a strategic plan, identifies key growth initiatives, and executes achievement. Takes full ownership of the business. Manages the cost to meet financial targets. Collaborates with Sales and Marketing teams to expand the business sector. Defines and implements best in class systems and processes to eliminate inefficiencies and creates a safe and productive environment for the employees.

    • P&L & performance management
    • Manages performance of the business and P&L to ensure monthly and annual budget targets are achieved for both revenue and profit.
    • Provides revenue and margin projections monthly
    • Determines the resource requirements (technical, commercial, and operational) to establish and grow the business.
    • Determines the investment needed to manage the business successfully, and the Return on Investment of all projects
    • Manages performance of employees to ensure a strong team is in place to deliver results.
    • Collaborates daily with the other business sectors and functional areas managers to ensure an effective management cross business sector
    • Develops a comprehensive strategic plan to grow the business significantly in the coming years.
    • Identifies key growth initiatives based on target market sectors and services to expand the business, with a focus on Digital Trust services, both in the industrial and mobility business sectors
    • Defines and executes the roadmap to convert strategy into action with key milestones, timelines, and owners to drive business expansion.
    • Completes a detailed market segmentation analysis annually that considers the competition, technology, market segments, pricing/margins, growth rates, SWOT analysis, geographies, and client profiles.
    • Partners with the Sales and Marketing teams to define and implement go-to-market strategies, and to develop a robust project pipeline across multiple market segments.
    • Expands the service offering beyond Certification Services and seeks opportunities to broaden the capability into key areas such as Performance Assessments, Supply Chain Risk Management, Training, and Advisory Services.
    • Leads the team of Key Account Specialists (KAS) to ensure audits are scheduled in a timely manner, and a high level of customer service is provided to the clients to expand the business.
    • Leads the team of Auditors and works with the Technical Team to ensure reports are completed on time and queries are responded to in a timely manner. Makes sure the team is used effectively with a high utilization level.
    • Drives the recruiting and hiring process to ensure availability of resources in a timely manner.
    • Establishes a winning culture that embraces change, risk taking, and innovative thinking.
    • Works closely with the Technical team to ensure compliance and maintain accreditations
    • Manages the process to ensure that operational KPI's (global and local) are met.
    • Addresses client complaints about Auditors and KAS performance, investigates the root-cause, and takes corrective action.
    • Establishes the systems, process, and procedures to effectively deliver the service. Proactively identifies opportunities to improve efficiencies.
    • Identifies any IT requirement in support of the business, internal and external, in collaboration with the global team
    • Maintains and develops knowledge and understanding of certification services, standards, regulatory requirements, and client expectations.
    • Takes a leadership role in creating a safe wok environment for all employees and establishing a culture with high integrity.
    • Adheres to internal standards, policies and procedures.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.
    Qualifications

    Education and Experience

    • Master's degree in Engineering, Business Management, Operations or related discipline AND
    • 10+ years of relevant experience (Testing, Inspection, Certification), including
    • 3-5 years of supervisory experience
    • Technical background with a deep understanding of the auditing and certification requirements
    • 3-5 years' experience successfully growing Digital Trust Services in North America

    Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities

    • Language Skills: English - Advanced level of knowledge
    • French – any level of proficiency
    • Mathematical Skills: Intermediate level of skills
    • Knowledge of market dynamics, including demand growth drivers, new technology, competitor actions, and pricing analysis as they are fundamental requirements for success.
    • Knowledge and understanding of current standards and legislation.
    • Proven ability to manage and coordinate multiple projects in a fast-paced, highly professional environment.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication, and interpersonal skills
    • Strong customer service orientation
    • Excellent organizational and time management skills
    • Knowledge and understanding of financial indicators, ability to analyze PNL.
    • Ability to translate strategies into operational and tactical goals and track performance.
    • Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment and make sound decisions in emergency situations.
    • Ability to motivate teams and lead through influence.
    • Leadership and coaching skills

    • MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook - Intermediate user level proficiency
