Role Description

Qualifications

  • Minimum undergraduate degree in a related health or human services field (social work, nursing)
  • Experience providing counseling, case management and crisis intervention to individuals experiencing mental health challenges and impacted by poverty, homelessness, substance use criminalization, social isolation etc.
  • Commitment to and experience working within a harm reduction framework
  • Strong clinical assessment and crisis intervention skills, with well
- developed problem-solving abilities and interpersonal skills

  • Knowledge of community resources, social and environmental determinants of health, evidenceinformed practices in working with child, adolescent and adult mental health
  • Current knowledge of relevant legislation including the Mental Health Act and P.H.I.P.A.
  • Current CPR/First Aid Certification
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Fluency in French and/or another language in addition to English an asset
  • Demonstrated commitment to antiracist/antioppressive practice and alignment with the mission and values of Good Shepherd
  • Valid Ontario driver's license

This is a full time, in-person contract role, however we are open to schedule flexibility_**
