    Junior Wetlands Specialist - BC -(GES Your Impact:

    Based out of your home office in Burnaby, Prince George, or Kamloops, you'll work as part of our wetlands team to contribute to the environmental planning and permitting efforts of government and privately-owned infrastructure projects. You will have the opportunity to support projects through field data collection efforts, and assist with the development of technical reports, review of field data, data management and regulatory applications as needed. This flex contract position will be a 12-month contract with an anticipated 30% of travel for fieldwork and 70% office work. Potential for contract extension or conversion to full-time employment based on performance and anticipated workload.

    The base salary range for this position is $57,200 to $72,400. This range reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across British Columbia, Canada locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

    Here's What You'll Need:


    • Diploma, B.Sc., or M.Sc. in biology, related to ecology, hydrology, wetlands, botany, or equivalent demonstrated experience.


    • At least 1-3 years of relevant field experience in environmental consulting or equivalent.


    • Proven field skills and willingness to work in the field in remote locations for extended periods of time if required.


    • Experience in satellite and aerial imagery interpretation, classification, and delineation of wetlands in the field in British Columbia.


    • Experience using ArcGIS software.


    • Skills in identification of wetland vegetation, hydrological indicators, and hydric soils.


    • A driver's license and a clean driver's abstract.

    Ideally, you'll also have:


    • Experience or interest in supporting other biophysical study areas such as reclamation, vegetation, wildlife, soils, and/or fisheries field assessments.
