Specialist, Jays Care Programs
Specialists on the Jays Care Programs team have 5+ years experience working with children and youth facing significant barriers.

Specialists are tasked with supporting a wide range of projects that are all designed to help level the playing field.

Our work enables us to work with and support communities facing a wide range of barriers including, but not limited to:
poverty, food insecurity, inaccessibility, ableism, racism, sexism, and homophobia.

Every project we devote time, funding and energy to has been well-researched, informed by our wide range of advisors, and is designed specifically to break down barriers and fortify strengths for children and youth.

Jays Care is looking for a passionate and dynamic specialist who will focus their energy primarily on our
RBI Summer Edition camp program.

The
RBI Summer Edition Specialist will help with the design, delivery and assessment of the RBI Summer Edition Program. RBI Summer Edition is a free summer day camp program that is connected to the TDSB's summer school initiatives.

It is designed to give families in priority neighbourhoods access to great, free, and robust summer camp programming that help inspire kids to fulfill their potential.

The role of this Specialist will primarily focus on, but not be limited to:
camper/family recruitment and relationship building; program site administrative logistics; development and implementation of adaptive programming and inclusion practices.

In addition, the Specialist can expect to be assigned to support a wide range of projects including, but not limited to:

In-stadium events
Jays Care Community Tour
Fundraising events

Type of role: 1 year contract

Jays Care Program Specialists are highly skilled at:

EXPERT FACILITATION

Planning, executing and assessing highquality training workshops for youth and adults
Using the most upto date research and learning to craft content and resources
Facilitating workshops and program content that is wildly engaging, inclusive and accessible for all participants
Creating workshop and program spaces that are welcoming, inclusive and barrier free

RECEIVING/

Utilizing feedback and building it in to their development and goals
Using a standardized format for providing constructive feedback to others
Actively scheduling opportunities for debriefing, discussion and feedback
