Summary:
This position is responsible for providing administrative support to the Vice President,Legal for Accord Financial Canada Corporation.
Duties include managing clients and file information, maintaining organization systems to manage document-flow; client contact; drafting and filing documents; and other administrative tasks.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Produce documents including typing, revising, creating blacklines and/or multiple versions of daily correspondence and/or practice specific documents (such as court documents or agreements).
- Maintain established filing and bring forward systems which may be in either manual or electronic form.
- Interact professionally with clients, opposing counsel, experts and other relevant stakeholders via telephone and written communications.
- Opening, organizing, and closing files
- Performing corporate searches, LTSA searches, and due diligence searches
- Conducting legal research through various databases and review of Provincial and Federal legislation to ensure compliance.
- Drafting due diligence reports for clients, monitoring, and reporting on due diligence for transactions.
- Assist with commercial finance transactions.
- Manage intake of documents and file related materials and updating electronic client files.
- Schedule meetings and maintain electronic calendars. Maintain a BF and limitation system.

Education / Experience Requirements:
- Strong organizational skills, the ability to handle a high volume of work, multitask, and meet deadlines.
- Experience in assisting counsel in the areas of corporate and commercial law. Experience with general litigation assistance would be an asset.
- Meticulously detail oriented excellent spelling, grammar and proofreading skills.
- Solid dictation skills and strong service orientation.
- Ability to take initiative and think ahead.
- High energy team player, positive and willing attitude. Ability to work independently with mínimal direction.
- Willingness to be flexible in learning about different legal practice areas.
- BC experience required. Working knowledge of BC Online and my LTSA
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, Adobe, and Microsoft Teams is required.
Certifications, Licenses, Registrations:
- LAA Certificate preferred but not required.
Education:
Required
- Associate's degree or better in Business Administration
