We are looking for an experienced, dynamic, and passionate
Commercial Maintenance Technician to support our growing team Kaneff is committed to providing all tenants with well-maintained, clean, and safe commercial spaces.

The Commercial Maintenance Technician is responsible for the proactive upkeep, repair, and maintenance of our 13 properties across the Greater Toronto Area.

You will report directly to the Director, Commercial Property Management as an integral part of our commercial maintenance team.

As a critical part of the Kaneff service team, you will be responsible for the timely completion of minor and major repairs to our commercial properties.

A company truck will be provided for ease of travel and transport of equipment.

Key Accountabilities:


  • Oversee all work by outside contractors;
  • Monitor and maintain all building systems;
  • Power washing, litter pick up, cleaning compactors and other work necessary to maintain a clean property;
  • Complete the makeready process of vacant units, which may include demolition, cleaning, removal of furniture and other items as directed by the Property Manager;
  • Repair structures, build and/or install partitions, blackboards, install pictures, and office furniture;
  • Perform minor electrical repairs such as replacing switches, ballast, wiring, exterior and interior bulbs, installing light fixtures, and troubleshoot problems;
  • Perform minor plumbing repairs such as faucet replacement, urinal and toilet repairs, pipe and drain repairs and troubleshooting malfunctioning plumbing equipment;
  • Perform sign installations such as posthole drilling and building of the framework;
  • Investigate and repair roof leaks;
  • Snow removal such as cleaning and salting of walkways, pathways and parking lot;
  • Landscaping such as installing new plants, removing old and dead plants, watering, sod laying, mulching and weed removal;
  • Responsible for the completion of all maintenance service requests as assigned;
  • Complete payroll timesheet and mileage reimbursement and submit to the supervisor as determined;
  • Be available for 24hour emergency response; and
  • Notify supervisor immediately of any unusual occurrences and/ or damage that have taken place or may occur.

Qualifications:


  • 25 years commercial property management experience;
  • Mechanically savvy with an ability to troubleshoot a broad range of complex issues and repairs;
  • Advanced understanding of general maintenance procedures and techniques;
  • Available to work overtime including weekends, public holidays, and evenings;
  • Effective problemsolving abilities;
  • Must be well
- organized and able to prioritize tasks;

  • Basic electrical, plumbing, drywall, and carpentry experience;
  • Awareness of occupational health and safety practices and experience with hand/power tools; and
  • Team oriented approach with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Location:
Multiple Locations throughout GTA


Schedule:
Monday to Friday 8 AM to 4:30 PM, rotating weekend on-call shifts.
