Project Location:
Bagotville, Quebec


Employment:
This position is approximately a 3 year term with potential for extension and/ or permanent employment.


Your New Role


The Project Coordinator is responsible for supporting the estimating, project management, and site project execution functions on each assigned project.

This includes managing subcontracts and interfacing with field staff and project stakeholders to plan and execute projects, and solve problems as they arise.


Your Duties
While the Project Coordinator is responsible for a multitude of duties, the main functions include:

  • Ensures compliance with all Sullivan policies and procedures.
  • Performs quantity takeoffs and surveys to manage contract progress and reporting.
  • Attends various project meetings as required including markup, kickoff, monthly cost review, and project progress.
  • Participates in the negotiation and issue of subtrade contracts, revisions, and purchase orders.
  • Assembles project documentation to facilitate or assist with permits, procurement, bonds, insurance, construction drawings, and commissioning.
  • Processes all deliverables including obtaining shop drawings, samples, and mockups for each assigned project and maintains control.
  • Understands project organizational structure.
  • Assists with change management and change order processes.
  • Identifies potential risks and supports the Project Manager with risk identification and opportunities on assigned construction projects.
  • Maintains and performs project document control and procedures.
  • Ensures positive working relationships and communications with the project owners, consultants, subtrades, and project team.
  • Prepares and tracks project claims and estimates.
  • Oversees inventory and tracking of ordered materials and equipment.
  • Participates in reviews of subcontractor's submittals for compliance with scope, design documentation, and coordination with other subtrades.
  • Ensures proper distribution of project change information and that project site personnel are provided with the most current information.
  • Supports the Superintendent with organization of Sullivan and/or subcontractor resources to ensure conformance with the project schedule.
  • Supports the Superintendent with administrative activities including, but not limited to daily field documentation, timekeeping, various coding, safety reporting, and environmental reporting.
  • Creates and maintains project logs including but not limited to ITP, RFI, SI, change control, purchase orders, shop drawings, etc.
  • Identifies and assists with resolving field staff technical issues.
  • Supports the development of maintenance and adherence to project schedules including the overall schedule and required "look ahead" schedules.
  • Assists with overall project closeout documentation including warranties, asbuilt drawings, operations, and maintenance manuals.
  • Perform other duties as required to support the overall success and profitability of Sullivan.

Safety

  • Commits to a high standard of procedural safety and regulatory compliance
  • Communicates and enforces safety standards in conjunction with the Construction Health & Safety Officer

Quality

  • Adheres to all processes and procedures in the Quality Management System (QMS)
  • Ensures the quality of product produced reflects the QMS and The Sullivan Way

What you will need to succeed

  • 5+ years of experience in the ICI construction industry as a Project Coordinator or buildingrelated work.
  • Post-Secondary education in construction management, engineering or architectural technology preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (including Word, Excel, Sharepoint, Teams)
  • Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM), or comparable project management certification is an asset.
  • Bilingual is an asset (French and English both in verbal, written in English)
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a secret level Government clearance
