Position Summary


The Dietary Aide is responsible for safe, basic food preparation and service for regular and therapeutic diets as well as items for the ward kitchens, cafeteria, coffee kiosk, and catering.

They are responsible for ware washing, sanitation, cleaning of kitchen, equipment, taking out garbage and/or compost and for carrying out routines in the timely delivery and pick-up of food items to these areas.


Qualifications:


  • Ontario Grade 12 or equivalent required.
  • Successful completion of Food Safety Handling Course (e.g. Proton, Health Unit or equivalent) required.
  • Minimum two (2) years food service or hospital experience required.
  • Successful completion of a Community College Food Service Worker program is an asset.
  • Proven ability to read, write, and follow verbal and written English instructions.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Experience in quantity food production an asset
  • Must possess ability to liaise with staff, patients, and visitors, in an efficient and congenial manner.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in written and verbal communications skills in relation to working with patients across the care continuum.
  • Satisfactory work performance and attendance record required.
