Job Description:

The De Beers Group has an exciting opportunity with the Human Resources Department.

Reporting to the HR Manager, Rewards this 12-month, full-time position is based at the Calgary Support Centre (located at the Calgary Airport Corporate Centre).

This position is an instrumental part of the HR Team, working closely with the Payroll Advisor this role is responsible for the timely and accurate delivery of payroll and related client service.

This position requires a detail-oriented and reliable individual who has the ability to work in a fluid environment while managing multiple priorities.

An accurate eye and a keen sense for detail and organization is key to this role.

  • Process required adjustments to payroll based on HR actions e.g. terminations, new hires, leave of absence;
  • Review the payroll register to identify issues prior to final run of the biweekly payroll;
  • Assist employees and HR representatives with payroll queries and provide accurate and timely
- solutions to issues as they arise;

  • Liaise daily with the external payroll provider to troubleshoot and resolve issues and make recommendations to improve payroll procedures and general functionality;
  • Reconcile and remit benefit premiums and pension contributions to third party vendors;
  • Build and foster great working relationships within the HR team, with our external vendors, and the broader network of internal partners; and

This is a hybrid position working two days in the office and three days from home.

Qualifications:


  • High School diploma and Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) certification (or underway) with three to five years experience in Canadian payroll processing;
  • Experience in mining or a similar industry with remote operations is preferred. Experience with U.S. payroll is an asset;
  • Experience working with Ceridian payroll (Dayforce), SAP and/or Success Factors is preferred;
  • Intermediate knowledge of MS Excel required and experience with reporting and data analytics is preferred;
  • Must be a Team player with ability to deliver quality customer service to all levels within the organization;
  • Detailed and highly organized, with strong written and verbal communication skills; and
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and discretion in handling confidential materials and matters.
