Work Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday

The Payroll Analyst is responsible for all payroll aspects of semi-monthly payroll processing of salaried employees.

This includes but is not limited to:

generating payroll journals, managing the payments to third party vendors, producing Records of Employment (ROE), dealing with queries on accounting entries, and responding to Service Canada inquiries.

The Payroll Analyst will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, a professional attitude and the ability to interact with all levels of the organization.


In this role, you will:


  • Be responsible for all aspects of the preparation and production of the salary semimonthly staff payrolls
  • Investigate and resolve all exceptions from reports out of UKG Dimensions system
  • Liaise with Supervisors and HRIS colleagues on all matters related to the staff semimonthly payrolls
  • Prepare off cycle payrolls for staff transfers, including production of ROEs and submission to Service Canada
  • Assist the Payroll Manager with yearend payroll tasks
  • Provide back up support, in case of absences, to other Payroll team members, including the other Payroll Analyst and Payroll Manager
  • Perform other duties as assigned

You bring:


  • Having a National Payroll Institute (PCP) designation an asset
  • Minimum 2 years of payroll experience
  • Experience in computerized payroll systems
  • Possess strong computer skills (Advance Excel, Word, computerized payroll package, knowledge of Access an asset
  • Must be detail oriented and have superior analytical skills
  • Previous experience working within a notforprofit organization
  • Welldeveloped interpersonal, and relationship building skills; ability to establish rapport and excellent communication with members, staff and volunteers
  • Excellent written, oral communication and problem solving skills
  • Excellent understanding of diversity, inclusion and equity including the ability to identify and address barriers, work effectively with diverse stakeholders, and integrate equity into program design
  • Must be able work flexible hours during payroll run
