About the Role


What You'll Do- Conducts research, develops standards and methodologies for business analysis activities based on industry standards and best practices.- Leads the business and technology teams in the business requirements gathering activities - organizes and lead business and system process reviews, engage business clients to elicit business requirements, uncover areas for improvement, conduct gap analysis and collaboratively participate in the development of effective solutions to address program objectives.

Directs the efforts of the Business Analysts on their role in large-scale, high-risk initiatives involving multiple domains for quality and accuracy.- Leads the documentation of business requirements, builds process maps, workflows, and other related documents for business requirements for various assignments.- Monitors project risk conducts impact analysis and executes post implementation activities. Employs effective strategies to proactively mitigate risks and facilitate resolution of problems, identifies impacts and risks of complex issues and communicates to the BSS management.- Reviews the functional/design specification for multiple stakeholders to ensure it meets the requirements approved in the business specification.- Leads the development and documentation of testing strategies and ensure that testing activities effectively represent business requirements and system goals, fulfill end-user requirements, and enables the effective identification of existing or potential issues.- Convert business requirements into user stories, use cases and test cases.- Lead the QA team through user acceptance testing.- Conducts analysis of issues identified in testing, documenting any system problems and discussing such problems with appropriate parties to advise of issues, recommends corrective measures and follow through with appropriate resolution.- Ensures that appropriate and updated business requirement documentations and testing documentations are always maintained.- Ensures that OPTrust standards and industry best practices are applied as business requirement and testing documentations are developed and updated.- Develops and recommends to users, methods for case processing where functionality does not exist.- Develops informal and formal training; prepares training plan, develops training program based on business training/developmental needs.- Act as a conduit between the business and the developer by ensuring that issues are addressed, documented, and communicated to relevant stakeholders.- Provides coaching, training, mentoring, and direction to Business Analysts and Quality Analysts.- Provides back-up to the Senior Project Leader role and other duties as assigned.


What You Bring- Effective experience as a team leader.- Experience working as a Senior Business Analyst on large system and business transformational projects with data conversion is an asset and/or 5+ years of recent hands-on experience working on large scope multidivisional projects, preferably involving defined benefit pension plans.- Experience in dealing with ambiguity.
