Here's how a(n) Quality Supervisor for our Edmonton Melloy office contributes to our team:


Responsibilities:


  • Conducts detailed analysis of contract documents (client scope documents, drawings, specifications, standards) and jurisdictional requirements for large and complex projects.
  • Actively works with estimating to review tender packages and subcontracts. Communicates gaps / missing information.
  • Evaluation of vendors quality programs and verifying compliance to clients AML list.
  • Participates in reviews of vendors/subcontractors quotations for compliance with scope, relevant codes, specifications, and standards.
  • Identifies and participates in resolving technical issues. Includes developing appropriate RFI's.
  • Documents all information relating to the estimate and archives and organizes such information to transfer to the project team upon successful award.
  • Consistently consults with designers/engineers when reviewing drawings and suggests valueadded or alternative construction methods or materials.
  • Actively works with project team to review requisitions. Communicates gaps / missing information.
  • Mentor's others, including students/interns.
  • Stays current with industry practices and technologies and seeks new and innovative construction methods and processes.
  • Prepares for and participates in internal/external compliance audits as required.

Qualifications:


  • Construction trade certification with equivalent experience, or postsecondary diploma or degree in construction management or engineering preferred.
  • 810 years of experience in construction in an operational, engineering, estimating or quality role preferred.
  • General construction knowledge; understanding specifications, drawings, quality requirements, materials, and standards.
  • Working knowledge of all codes related to the construction industry (e.g., ASME Section II, ASME Section VIII, ASME B31).
  • Basic knowledge of commonly used construction materials.
  • Intermediate planning, organizational, and time management skills with the ability to multitask, and prioritize own work.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent recordkeeping skills.
  • Basic understanding of supply chain process, project life cycle, materials management best practices, and risk.
  • Strong verbal and written (expression and comprehension) communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, and diplomatically.
