Restaurant Manager


Island Spice Flava Restaurant & Lounge is looking for an experience restaurant manager to head our team We have been around for 20 years specializing in fine Caribbean foods and have recently opened our second location.

This location is sports bar oriented and continues our established brand name serving exceptional service to customers. We offer competitive wages and room to excel in an exemplary restaurant team.

Responsibilities:


  • Supervising daytoday operations to ensure all standards of quality and service are met during each shift
  • Providing orientation and training according to training systems in place to all staff
  • Constructing weekly work schedule to meet business demands
  • Proactively communicating with the General Manager and all members of the management team and conveying information
  • Demonstrate professionalism, courtesy and respect for customers in all front of the house situations
  • Additional duties as required

Skills and Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years experience in the restaurant industry
  • Smart Serve certificate required
  • Food handlers certificate required
  • Able to handle stress associated with responding to and solving problems
  • First Aid certificate and WHMIS certificate preferred
  • Experience with Caribbean cuisine
  • Excellent customer service skills and strong work ethic
  • Exercise discretion and independent judgement as well as using creative approaches to formulate responses
  • Quick, efficient and punctual
  • Able to diplomatically deal with difficult situations and people
  • Must be able to work independently
  • Able to perform well under pressure in a fastpaced environment

Job Types:
Full-time, Permanent


Salary:
$20.00-$23.00 per hour


Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Day shift
  • Evening shift
  • Every Weekend
  • Monday to Friday
  • Weekend availability
  • Weekends only

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Toronto, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Education:


  • Secondary School (preferred)

Experience:


  • Restaurant: 5 years (required)

Language:


  • English (required)

Licence/Certification:

  • Smart Serve (required)
