Property Accounting Manager
Based in Toronto, the Property Accounting Manager will report directly to the Financial Controller.

The Property Accounting Manager is responsible for adding value to QuadReal by leading a team of Property Accountants and ensuring that they are providing meaningful financial information that is professional, accurate and free of material misstatements.


As a QR Property Accounting Manager, you will be required to provide financial and technological leadership for current and new staff.

This would include training on new systems, tools and overall QR processes and procedures while incorporating high-level thinking and analysis within the group.


As a Property Accounting Manager
You Will:

  • Supervise and manage the day-to-day activities of Property Accounting staff, encouraging high-level thinking and analysis within the group and provide direction and guidance as needed
  • Responsible for timely and accurate completion of annual activities such as property budgets, final operating cost recovery adjustments, annual property taxes, and property audits
  • Responsible for timely completion of monthly activities, such as reporting, HST reconciliations, cash distributions, etc. and ensure that they are free errors or material misstatements
  • Assist with new and existing property set up, analysis, and follow up of outstanding issues as required
  • Liaise with other functional groups across the country to ensure they are receiving responsive service as well as aid and advice as necessary
  • Manage staff workloads, allocations, and deadlines to ensure reasonable balance and that all QuadReal and/or client needs are met in a timely manner
  • Responsible for performance management and input for ongoing improvement ensuring that Property Accounting staff continue to develop and utilize skills that are necessary to complete job responsibilities and communicating to Controller/Director any staff successes or performance issues
  • Help to develop technical, analytical, and communication skills of Property Accounting staff through targeted and focused review of monthly and annual files by offering suggestions and constructive feedback

Your Background:


  • Qualified CA/CMA/CGA designation or relevant work experience in full cycle property accounting
  • Minimum 5 years commercial/retail property accounting experience, including some supervision of staff
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both oral and written; ability to develop and sustain cooperative working relationships; ability to develop leadership in others; team player
  • Organizational/Multi-Tasking: ability to allocate one's time effectively, work under pressure, and meet tight deadlines; ability to handle multiple demands and competing priorities; ability to prioritize workload; ability to work and analyze at a high level; willingness to learn in a dynamic environment that includes new ideas and change
  • Knowledgeable in Yardi; intermediate to advanced skills in Excel, Word, and other Microsoft Office programs,
