Position Summary:


Responsibilities:


  • Use computer assisted design/drafting (CADD) software to prepare technical drawings for hulls, primary structures, secondary structures, mechanical equipment, and distributed systems outfit.
  • Use CADD software to prepare technical drawings for various ship repair projects and facility improvement projects.
  • Collaborate with Navel Engineers/Architects and Project Managers to convert engineering requirements and architectural designs into detailed and functional drawings.
  • Communicate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure accuracy and completeness of designs.
  • Revise drawings and update documentation as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience:


  • A College Diploma or higher education in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, Drafting, or a related field.
  • Previous experience in drafting an asset.
  • Proficient in 2D/3D CADD software.
  • Proficient in Solidworks software an asset.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to write and communicate information related to technical drawings.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fastpaced environment.
