Overview

Acts as part of an interdisciplinary team, facilitating patient flow through the Oncology Clinic/Hemodialysis/Kidney Care Clinic (MCKC, Home Dialysis).

This involves booking appointments, registration, file management, orientation of the patient/family to the unit, data collection and procurement of supplies.

Education

Grade 12 or equivalent, postsecondary education preferred.
Extensive knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
Recent experience, within 2 years, of working in an oncology/renal clinic.
Knowledge of Cancer Care Ontario/Ontario Renal Network reporting required.
Public Relations/customer service training preferred.
Successful completion of Cerner training.

Qualifications:

Demonstrated ability to work independently or as part of an interdisciplinary team in an extremely fast paced environment(s)
Ability to multitask and proven organizational skills.
Proven innovation in problem solving skills and critical thinking.
Excellent organizational skills.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, when dealing with coworkers, other disciplines, other departments, patients/families, family physicians, and external agencies.
Demonstrated interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
Demonstrated ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
Demonstrated ability to be receptive to instruction/direction and changes.
Professional telephone etiquette is mandatory.
Expert with Plexxus SAP-SRM requisitioning and troubleshooting.
Demonstrated knowledge of procedures, terminology and equipment related to oncology/hemodialysis/ Kidney Care.
Demonstrated ability to work closely with patients, to provide family centered care.
Good work and attendance record required.
