We are looking to grow our Culinary Team at Teatro Ristorante.

Teatro Ristorante is our award-winning flagship restaurant which opened its doors in 1993. Our philosophy is to provide quality seasonal cuisine, a fine offering of properly cellared wine, and knowledgeable, attentive service. Our service and staff are rooted in this philosophy, upholding an exceptional level of cuisine and service. Teatro is open seven nights a week for dinner with lunch service Monday to Friday.


The Chef de Partie will prepare, present, store, and dispatch all hot food products, but not limited to caterings and various functions to pre-set menu specifications within the given time limitations as previously determined by the Chef de Cuisine.

Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations by ensuring that all staff also adheres to these standards through training and development.

What you will do as a Chef de Partie

  • Ensure consistent food preparation and the highest caliber of food presentation, taking advantage of all opportunities to improve upon both, and ensuring communication to the Sous Chef, specifically but not limited to catering operations within the kitchen.
  • Strong and effective communication with all departments
  • Ensure cleanliness and hygiene are maintained in the various kitchen areas including refrigerators and storerooms and those food products are rotated.
  • Take an active role in the production and presentation of all food products involving catering operations, to maintain the best quality food style possible.
  • Aid in the transportation of all food products.
  • Provide ongoing input to the Chef for menus, creating, developing, and recommending recipes, for the use of other staff, to create a consistent and quality food product.
  • Aid in ordering and inventory of food products
  • Ensure food is stored in appropriate containers, labeled, and rotated to ensure high standards of freshness, minimizing waste and maximizing quality.
  • Ensure refrigerators and storerooms are organized and maintained in the various kitchen areas on a daily basis and that all food products are stored in accordance with regulations.
  • Aid in maintaining department objectives and ensuring they are met and exceeded.
What we are looking for

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 5 years of combined experience in the cooking trade.
  • Culinary Education Trade Papers, Red Seal or equivalent an asset.
  • Minimum eighteen (18) years of age to handle alcoholic beverages.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of foodservice and catering trends, quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, preparation, and presentation required.
  • Excellent verbal and oral communication skills, including the ability to give directions, converse with customers.
  • Highly flexible, with solid communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations pertaining to the restaurant industry.
  • Selfmotivated, with a positive attitude and a consistent display of professionalism.
  • Acquire and maintain a strong knowledge of trends in the food industry.
  • Highly effective teamwork skills.
  • Attention to detail in all areas of work.
Working Conditions

  • Must be able to work a schedule including early morning, days, nights, weekends & holidays
  • Must be able to hear well in a loud environment in order to respond to employees or guests.
  • This position will spend 100% of the time standing.
  • Must be able to transport up to 50 pounds on occasion and up to 35 pounds regularly.
  • Will be constantly exposed to high temperatures in the kitchen environment.
  • Manual dexterity is required to use knives and kitchen appliances.
