Service Technician - Ottawa, Canada - Swish Maintenance Limited

Position Overview:
The Service Technician maintains customer satisfaction by ensuring timely equipment service including but not limited to emergency repairs, planned maintenance, pre-and post-delivery inspections, training and general customer service as it pertains to equipment service.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Responsible for servicing and repairing industrial and commercial equipment (small motors) including electrical problems in house and onsite
- Responsible for inventory control of replacement parts and equipment
- Responsible for care, maintenance, stocking and general housekeeping of service van
- Responsible to complete all scheduled service calls based on service procedures
- Responsible to assist with any Industrial equipment demonstrations/rentals required by sales, staff, management or customers
- Responsible and accountable for hours spent on outside or in house service calls
- Responsible and accountable for all paperwork done on outside or in house service calls
- Responsible to reduce customer down time through Planned Maintenance Agreement sales
- Responsible to assist, when required, with all service related inquiries
- Responsible to report any injuries incurred inhouse or offsite while performing servicerelated duties
- May be required to perform after hours'/weekend emergency Industrial Service repairs
- Reports to Operations Manager
Physical Demands / Working Conditions:
- Conditions may cause some stress or physical discomfort due to exposure to: repetitive lifting, temperature variations, time constraints, moving product more than 50 lbs.
- Moderate intensity activities add up to an average of four to six hours a day
- High intensity physical activities add up to and average of four to six hours a day
- Travel required
Qualifications:
Experience:
- Clean Drivers abstract
- Commercial level of acquired technical/mechanical knowledge such as small engine or automotive technician.
- WHMIS and TDG training required (company will provide training)
- Good organizational skills and clerical abilities as you will be responsible for maintaining a fully stocked parts department.
- Ability to handle powered machinery
- Ability to do basic math, problem solve
- Unique problems are passed to Operations Manager or Service Manager
- Ability to handle customer service inquiries
- Interpersonal skills to communicate with customers, staff and suppliers in a pleasant and professional manner
- Motor skills to operate computer, custom software, phones, debit and interac machines
- Minimum of 2 years' motor and electrical experience
Education:
- Minimum High School Diploma
