By coordinating youth initiatives, including summer camps, and other campus well-being programs, this
position promotes physical, social and mental health while developing student leaders, providing quality
childcare and driving future student recruitment by introducing youth to applied learning on RRC
Polytech campuses. The incumbent ensures programs build RRC Polytech's reputation as a choice
post-secondary, enhance the current student experience, promote inclusion for all, grow partnerships,
and drive employee engagement.
Reporting to the Manager, Campus Well-Being, the Supervisor provides leadership to all youth initiatives
staff in the delivery of programs and the care and supervision of youth to ensure programs provide a
safe and enjoyable experience for all. The incumbent works closely with academic areas to develop
enriching youth experiences, while overseeing program logistics and contributing to plans related to
marketing, budget, evaluation, inclusion and health and safety compliance.
- R E Q U I R E D Q U A L I F I C A T I O N S
- Degree in a relevant discipline such as Education, Child and Youth Care, Recreation, or Kinesiology.
- Equivalent education and experience may be considered.
- Several years' experience in a sport, recreation or fitness capacity
- Experience delivering child or youth programs such as day camps
- Experience in a supervisory role
- Excellent program development and implementation skills, including planning, communication,
- execution and evaluation
- Proven supervisory skills, including recruiting, scheduling, training, and mentoring staff
- Exceptional child and youth engagement skills
- Demonstrated knowledge of health and safety standards and risk management procedures, including
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the demonstrated ability to proactively build relationships to
- enhance service delivery
- Superior communication skills both written and verbal in order to communicate effectively and
- Ability to monitor and project revenue and expenses to assist with budget management
- Understanding of Truth and Reconciliation and of equity, diversity, inclusion, and access
- Experience building a respectful workplace culture that promotes diversity, learning and continuous

- Certifications related to sport, fitness, recreation or wellness
- Experience in a postsecondary environment

- Applicants must be legally entitled to work in Canada
- This position may be required to work evenings and/or weekends
- This position may be required to work throughout the academic year including the summer months
- Incumbent must hold a valid and current CPR Certificate
- Incumbent must hold a valid and current First Aid Certificate
- Incumbent must provide a current and satisfactory Criminal Records Check, including a Vulnerable
- Persons Sector Check
- Incumbent must provide a current and satisfactory Child Abuse Registry Check
