FACILITATOR, FAMILY ENGAGEMENT

3 Permanent Part Time Positions

(22.5 hours/week)

1 at each site:
Mississauga, Halton and Brampton


Work Arrangement:
On-site


ErinoakKids is currently seeking three enthusiastic individuals to take on a new and exciting role at the organization: Facilitator, Family Engagement.

Reporting to the Clinical Supervisor

  • Family Foundational Services, the Facilitator is responsible for connecting client families and providing meaningful opportunities for engagement. The Facilitator provides resources, information, and supports to families to assist in their independence and advocacy, based on their needs. The Facilitator will also help families to share their experiences, ideas, stories, and feedback to enhance overall services at ErinoakKids.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Partner in the coordination and delivery of family events, social networking and workshops
  • Provide personalized support and information (nonclinical) in person, over the phone and over Zoom/Teams as necessary; using a range of methods and materials
  • Facilitate the expansion of resource material in many formats and languages to ensure greatest ease of use and accessibility
  • Collaborate with Coordinator and Supervisor to develop and maintain a collection of relevant, diverse and useful information for clients and families. (e.g., educational tip sheets, videos, online resources, and pamphlets)
  • Work collaboratively with children and youth with disabilities and their families, staff and community
  • Formulate ideas and plans within a team setting, practicing effective listening and open communication.
  • Effectively set priorities and organize workload; allowing for the completion of assigned projects within a predetermined schedule.
  • Work in collaboration with Facilitators at other ErinoakKids sites to promote consistency and efficiency in processes and procedures.

Qualifications:


  • Degree or diploma in social services, health or a related field is required;
  • Professional or lived experience with childhood disability is required;
  • Proven customer service and interpersonal skills;
  • Comfortable acting as an ambassador of ErinoakKids;
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written);
  • Familiarity with project or event management is an asset;
  • Strong attention to detail and organization, ability to handle multiple projects and priorities in a professional and timely manner;
  • Selfstarter and proactive approach in resolving problems and issues;
  • Strong computer skills (MS Office: Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint);
  • A team player who enjoys working collaboratively with diverse groups and community partners;
  • Available to work flexible hours; some evening work and weekend work will be required;
  • Access to reliable transportation for work related travel;
  • Bilingualism in French and English is an asset.
