    Description

    Your Opportunity:

    The Licensed Practical Nurse - PCU 71 and 72 (LPN) works collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary healthcare team on two 38-bed Acute/Sub Acute Medical Unit(s) at the Foothills Medical Centre. The patient population on these units include acute medical patients and patients awaiting transfer to an alternative level of care settings in the community. The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) will work in collaboratively amongst a multi-disciplinary team to ensure that our patients receive high quality, patient/family centered care. These patients do have complex and diverse care needs. The LPN will be orientated and required to work on both Unit 71 and Unit 72.PLEASE NOTE: This posting is scheduled to close at 23:59 of the posting end date but may be filled earlier if a Regular Employee who holds a position within this workplace expresses their interest in this vacancy by 23:59 on the 5th calendar day following the posting date.     Description:

    As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, demonstrated skill level and AHS policies and procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

    Required Qualifications:

    Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

    Additional Required Qualifications: Preferred Qualifications:

    Relevant Senior's and Geriatric Health education is highly preferred. Connect Care experience preferred.
