Facility Attendant (Park Washrooms)

April to October, 2024 $22.68/Hour
**24-35 Hours/Week

Must be available to work 8:00 am to 4.00 pm or 4.00 pm to midnight, including weekends,
**on a rotating schedule.
The incumbent is responsible for performing general cleaning and minor maintenance work in
various City facilities.

**Minimum requirements: - Successful completion of secondary school education or any acceptable combination of

education, training and related work experience.

  • Certified Pool Operators Certificate would be an asset.
  • Six months relevant workrelated experience cleaning facilities using applicable equipment
and using power tools.

  • Ability to acquire knowledge of the standard methods, material and equipment employed
in the care and maintenance of City facilities.

  • Demonstrable proficiency in the safe operation of assigned power tools, and the
maintenance and repair of machinery/equipment for cleaning facilities.

  • Demonstrable working knowledge of the safe operation and maintenance of assigned
cleaning equipment and the use of the chemicals and waxes required to clean, polish and
sanitize City facilities.

  • Ability to deal courteously and professionally with employees, community groups and members
of the public.

  • Ability to work independently on assigned duties under minimum supervision.
  • Must be medically and physically fit to perform the duties of the position.
  • Good interpersonal, leadership, decision making, organizational, communication (written
and oral in English) and customer service skills.

  • Knowledge of pool and whirlpool operation, related Public Health Regulations, and
preventive maintenance procedures (especially dealing with floor maintenance) is an
asset.

  • Attends Standard First Aid, Basic Rescuer CPR-C and Auto External Defibrillator (AED)
training when required by the Corporation.

  • Possession of a valid Class G Ontario Drivers licence is preferred. Must provide consent
to conduct regular Driver's Abstracts through the Ministry of Transportation to operate City
vehicles. A clean driving record is preferred.

  • Must be prepared to undergo a Vulnerable Sector Screening as a condition of employment.
