Responsibilities:


OVERALL PURPOSE:
Delivers training courses/programs both technical and non-technical that meet the company goals for the departments and employees across BCRTC. Delivers training to new and existing employees, supervisors, contractors and other stakeholders. Assesses learners' knowledge, skills, attributes and competencies against standards. Assists in scheduling of trainings and coordinates supporting resources. Supports the design and development of curriculum and contributes to identification of pre-training and post-training requirements. Supports ongoing improvements in the effectiveness of training content, method and delivery. Works as an effective support resource to the BCRTC Training Department.


MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.)
Delivers training to new and existing employees, supervisors, contractors and other stakeholders, including:

a) delivering curriculum in classroom and field, and/or using Learning Management System, in accordance with the approved course content.

b) delivering training (formal, targeted, intervention) to learners' in the work environment.

c) developing and conducting remedial classroom training or tutoring as required.

d) providing coaching and additional support to learners who are not meeting expected outcomes or competency requirements.

e) liaising with supervisors and managers to support learners' ongoing training and assessment in the workplace.

f) ensuring all employees complete course evaluations upon completion of the course, and forwarding these to the Training Manager and Sr. Training Advisor for review and analysis.

2.)
Assesses learners' knowledge, skills, attributes and competencies against standards by:

a) administering oral, written and performance assessments to evaluate against required outcomes to evaluate.

b) learners' mastery of knowledge, skills and competencies against established standards and required outcomes.

c) communicating learning outcome and assessment expectations, both formative and summative, to learners.

d) providing practical hands-on instruction and effective feedback.

e) identifying learners not achieving competency requirements during training and informing Manager and writing learner performance reports that provide evaluation scores, recommendations for ongoing support and requirements for additional training.

3.)
Assists in scheduling of trainings and coordinates supporting resources, including:

a) arranging for permits/clearance to use trains and other equipment for training classes/courses.

b) assisting in scheduling of classrooms and specialized training and preparing and distributing course materials.

c) advising on the revision of training schedules as required.

d) identifying requirements for Subject Matter Expert participation, facilities, equipment and tools for course delivery and SME's for course delivery.

4.)
Supports the design and development of curriculum and contributes to identification of pre-training and post-training requirements by:

a) participating as a training design and development project team member and validating learning objectives.

b) developing assessment criteria and tools including measurable objectives for recognition of prior learning evaluation for new and existing employees.

c) identifying and communicating assessment criteria for successful completion of courses.

d) implementing and/or assisting in all aspects of course delivery.

e) developing and/or assisting in the implementation of on-the-job coaching/mentorship support.

f) recommending required changes to existing training curriculum and courses based on audience feedback.
