The Manager, Internal Communications will be responsible for helping to develop and execute on the global internal communications strategy for AIMCo.

The position will serve as a trusted counselor to executives within the organization as we work to tell powerful stories about the Alberta's Investment Manager to internal audiences - building morale, pride, and a client-centric mindset while articulating company-wide strategy, driving communications excellence, and building confidence and trust in leadership.


Responsibilities Include:

  • Provide strategic communications guidance and advice on integrated communication strategies to build employee engagement, productivity, and retention.
  • Contribute to the development and execution of communications initiatives in partnership with teams across the AIMCo.
  • Oversee the planning, execution, and measuring results of organizationwide events (e.g., All Hands, Quarterly Townhalls, Q&As, etc.)
  • Manage videobased projects, working with our videographer and creative team to build emotional attachment to AIMCo with colleagues and clients.
  • Manage the evolution of our Intranet by leading a redesign program to ensure colleagues are engaged and leveraging the portal as their goto information source.
  • Serve as a steward of the employee experience to help safeguard colleague mindshare, avoiding information overload, ensure communications are relevant, and drive behavioral change aligned with our strategy.
  • Write and develop messaging around various topics, including company strategy, priorities, exciting investments, our clients and organizational announcements.
  • Collaborate with crossfunctional teams, including our divisions, management teams, and communications to ensure alignment and consistency in messaging and branding.
  • Monitor and measure the effectiveness of communication initiatives, making datafocused recommendations for improvement and demonstrating the value of communication efforts.
  • Stay uptodate with industry best practices, emerging trends, and technologies in communications to drive innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Human Resources, Public Relations, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in internal communications, preferably within a corporate environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create clear, concise, and engaging content targeted to diverse employee audiences.
  • Experience in planning and executing effective internal communication strategies and campaigns.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and manage stakeholders effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and build relationships with leaders, crossfunctional teams, and employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to measure communication effectiveness, interpret data, and make datadriven recommendations for improvement.
  • Knowledge of change management principles and strategies, with experience in communicating organizational changes to employees.
